The temp control is mounted inside the back of the fridge. No way to get to it without removing the fridge.

The receptacle for the outside fridge is on a 20 amp breaker which includes
all the other receptacles in the camper, including the GFI in the bathroom.
Like other campers I have had, I will be adding a new receptacle dedicated
to running an electric space heater.

Forestriver 21bd fridge & Other

I could see the plug and unplug for winter, However I happen to love the outside fridge, personally I going to just add a power strip with surge protector and switch $15.00 to turn off and on! from my understanding there is a thermostat on off switch on back of Fridge, haven't verified yet! But in any case I contacted Forest river and suggested the add two more cabinet to inside where outside compart is, that way you would have easy access to fridge, plus a place to put trash can and have access from inside and could also be used outside and easily remove from outside for dumping. I may add my self at latter date if I cam find or order 2 doors to match interior! We pick ours up in late November 2015 and only spent one night in it in our yard, next morn canvas had separated from trailer its self at side, so had wobbly table and led lights on jack stand not working took in for warranty work about 6 weeks ago waiting on new swing table leg assembly all other work done. Hope no issue when we go on real first camping trip here at end of May 2016, I had Jayco before this and never had any problems with Bunk ends, Hope forest river quality is has good better

I use a standard surge protector. I unplugged my refrigerator and plugged the surge protector into that outlet. I can turn it on or off when ever I want to, and I can also use the surge protector for other items as well.

I have messed with mine, and found both the plug and thermo control....
both take a contortionist approach to get to, after moving stuff out of the way. I'm seeing a power strip adaptation in my future.
At least you will have 120 power to get to easier.

I love my setup. I have a power strip velcro'd on top of the fridge and my bluetooth speaker also fits perfectly on top of the fridge sharing the same power strip. That fridge compartment has become the hub of my outside world.

I was so tempted to remove it because the ONE thing I find lacking in the DK is outside storage...but I use it far too much to consider pulling it out. I sure like some of the innovative ways people are using it though!
