Shamrock 21DB Outside Refrigerator Shutoff?

Just purchased a 2015 21DB and have found that when hooked up to power the outside refrigerator is constantly on. There is no on-off switch on the refrigerator, and the frig is permanently mounted with no way to unplug it. Is there a way to turn it off?

Thanks for any advice.

I know others on here pulled the fridge and use it for other things...hopefully a bd or dk owner will chime in. I am curious myself.

Reach in and on the right WAY behind the fridge is an outlet. It's plugged into the fridge circuit. I Rewired mine to be on the OUTLET circuit and added a 3 port surge protector with on off switch. This was when I have all kinds of junk packed on top of it it won't run. Cause it gets HOT.

I also removed it for when we dry camp and converted it into a generator storage for traveling and a outside dog area for when the little ones can't come hang outside.

Thanks ChibullsAN for the information. I do not understand what you meant by rewiring to an outlet circuit. Could I just plug a surge protector in where the fridge is currently plugged in and then plug the fridge into it? Then use the surge protector as an on-off switch? I think it is pretty cheap of Forest River to install a fridge with no temperature and on-off switch.

I literally meant rewire the outlet to be on another circuit, as in remove the 110v wiring from one circuit breaker to another in the panel. But I wanted to do that for other reasons..... So yeah adding a surge with on and off switch would work great for you.

2 trips and some driveway time with ours. We just unplug ours when its not serving as a fridge, but your surge protector idea should work.

Thanks for the info yetavon

I tried to unplug the fridge but it was mounted up against the plug.
I removed the fridge, and found that a temperature control and shut
off is mounted behind it. Replaced the fridge with an older fridge I
have that has temp control and shut off inside it.

We are good to go now!

Thanks you all for this forum!

So you are saying the fridge that came with it has a switch in the back? If so, was it hard to reach?

I absolutely love the dog room but I don't think our 2 labs would fit
