Side to side leveling

Just returned from my FIRST trip with my new ROO 19', everything went Great, my only question is there an easy way to level side to side, My daughter and son-in- law placed 2x6 on ground then backed up over them, ok but very slow, can I take a bottle jack and raise the low side up and then place the boards under the wheels. OH one last question: dumped a black tank for the first time EVER, how do I know if I got it cleaned out good enough? Is there a way to shine a flashlight up there to see if it is completely drained ?

that's how I do it was well with our TT, I use the leveling blocks with my 3' level on the back bumper. I then pull onto or back onto the blocks. Then drop it, grab a drink and have a good time

Don't think you'd want to shine a flashlight up there. You never know what could drip out. Get a clear sewer elbow (link below) with a back flush adapter. When the water running out is clear you're good. Then dump grey tank to flush out the sewer hose.

Pulling onto 2x6's, leveling blocks or whatever is a common, accepted method of leveling side to side. Once you acquire a selection of levelers, it only take a few seconds to level up before unhitching. No need to use bottle jacks or climb under the camper.

Unless your black tank has a built in flush feature about all you can do is be sure it is almost full when dumping to evacuate the waste out of the tank. Depending on how your toilet is plumbed to the black tank, you might be able to get a flush wand down through the toilet and flush that way as well.

We use Anderson Levelers. They work great.

3604 - Camper Leveler

Available on Amazon.

Here's a YouTube video on them.

Not that they don't have their own limitations, but check out the Andersen Leveler. They are very popular with members here (including myself). My guess is that with your smallish trailer you will have to modify them a little as explained in the thread linked below (due to limited space between your axles)...

Are there any issues with Anderson levelers breaking? I've read some reviews where the plastic levelers like them break.

The very few instances where I read about the levelers breaking, Andersen replaced it for free. I have not had an issue in three years of regular use on a TT like yours.

I've been camping for 50+ years - starting as a kid of course - before Anderson Levelers were popular. I and my dad before me have used a wedge we built for leveling and used a level bubble mounted on the trailer. I've always found that to be quick and easy. The wedge can be a lot smaller for a single axle unit, but it works for both. I carry an 18" long x 6" high wedge made out of 5/4" x 6" pressure treated deck wood and a plastic chock for my current single axle unit.

I use Anderson Levelers with an 8,000 lb trailer with no issues. Never broken one. Read and follow the instructions and you shouldn't have any issues.

It is what we use as well. A lot cheaper than 40 + dollars a pop per wheel. I would not feel real comfortable just using on a dual wheel set up.

camper leveler $80 + tax and shipping
2 x 6 cut into short pieces $5.

i also cary two short 1 x 6s. after a few times camping you can pretty much judge how high the RV needs to go by the level's bubble. I would also suggest you use the floor in your RV to level it, not your bumper as the two may not be the same.

Although the Anderson levelers are really great lego blocks, 2X6, or what have you are far cheaper. After leveling a few times you'll get the hang of it and it becomes real quick. We put a 2 foot level inside the door of our 5th wheel and take a look at the bubble, can never depend on the back bumper but could work for you, judging the bubble on the level determines how many lego blocks or 2X6's we'll need, after a few times you'll get the hang of it and be pretty close most of the time. After leveling if the bubble is within the lines of the level but not exactly in the middle don't sweat the small stuff, pull a chair out and enjoy the outdoors.

Depending on the weight of your trailer, you could use this:

BAL - Innovative Products for the RV Industry

I used this, when I had a PopUp. It is rated at 1750lbs (total trailer weight of 3500lbs). They are fairly easy, don't take up a lot of room and can replace a stack of blocks and a set of chocks.

Levelling blocks and a 2 foot level on the counter. Easy as pie, but it may take a few tries to get the correct height. Then a glass of wine, red.

I would check the level in the fridge. The floor and fridge in mine don't match about a quaternary to half bubble difference between the two, and it's the fridge that really needs to be level.

I use 2x8 about 5 foot long on mine with a wedge made out of a block of oak foot long 8 in high. Overkill I guess
