Smoke Alarm

Didn't really find any info on this searching the forums. Does anyone else have an issue with the smoke alarm? Every single time we use the stove it ends up going off? I've tried windows open, air on, fan above the stove, doesn't seem to matter. Even tried the Cool breeze fans. I'm thinking maybe its to sensitive or are they all like this?

when ours goes off, i simply go under it and blow hard at the side and that clears it.

Is it the smoke alarm or the propane alarm? (Smoke alarm will be up high, propane detector is down low)

My propane detector goes off any time you use an aerosol can in the camper.

Our smoke detector also sounds easily when cooking. We usually turn off the Fantastic Fan in the bedroom and ensure the range-hood vent is free to open with its fan on and avoid some of the alarms but they still happen.

Perhaps it's a convenient "dinner's ready."

It has just become our routine to pull the 9v as soon as the stove starts then plug it back in once we are done. I have heard someone use a shower cap to cover it up but I would be afraid i'd forgot to take it off.

Sounds like it just is what it is then, Think I will take the advice and just pull the battery before hand. Will save a lot of literal headaches, lol. Thanks guys

Yeah I think it is a fact of trailer life... I laugh around meal time when you can start hearing the "dinner bells" going off.

Hmmm... Interesting. The only time ours ever went off was when we lit the oven for the first time. But I was expecting it to, so I had the range hood running and also the fan over the island on high. Other than that, it stays quiet as we cook, toast, etc.

The only problem with the one in the lite is when we fired up the furnace for the first time, 5 AM was loud that morning...

We do not use the stove or oven.

So, no real issues with the one we have.

Ours is also mounted right next to the stove... Might be the issue. CO detector is above the bed.. Thought co was heavier than air, shouldn't it be on the floor area?

CO is about the same weight as air, propane is heavier.

This for us to. Maiden voyage the damn thing went off at 2am. Scared the crap out of me and was ready to yank the family out of bed until I realized I didn't smell any smoke and a quick walkaround revealed nothing. Wife was not happy that morning.

I cooking in the trailer all the time. It has never gone off. I usually have the ceiling fan on when we are cooking. The bathroom fan stays on low too. That would be really annoying to remove the batteries each time you cook😊

how big / what is your rig? Our TT's is mounted within two feet of the stove and we have 7 foot ceilings. My guess you have a 5er if you have a ceiling fan? I winder if that makes the difference... Ours is 33 feet vs a 40 footer.

There is no hybrid TT big enough for a ceiling fan , so that info isn't realistic for us hybrid owners.

The fantastic fans will pull air in through the range vent even with the fan on...so, out goes the battery when the range is on and windows are closed.
