It is a direct wire to the battery and disconnect.
There is no built in charge controller, so you need to one between that plug and your solar panel(s). Zamp is proprietary. I use a Zamp controller and wiring because of the waterproof feature. If you use a different brand simply reverse the polarity from the controller to the Zamp plug.

solar panel for 23ss

Thank you for your info. on the Zamp hook-up to my trailer. I intend to look up info. on the Zamp unit (80watts) and a similar unit from GoPower before i"buy". I like that the Zamp has the controller attached to the panel already,as you wrote. We will be using basic needs such as water pump and refridgerator and a few lights at night. I thank you again !!

How much charge time do you get out of a 120?

IS THERE ANY "PREP" WORK (FUSES, ETC.) TO DO BEFORE YOU PLUG INTO THE PORTS ON THE TRAILER ?? Thank You The Flagman

For my setup, I have an inline fuse after the charge controller before the Zamp trailer plug that matches the amps of the controller.

Some diagrams you will also see a fuse between the panel and the charge controller.

What does that look like? ...an extra unit attached to the plug and play?

It is an inline fuse found at any automotive store, spliced into the positive wire between the the charge controller and the battery.

Lots of pictures online.
