sold our beloved 23SS
somewhat of a sad day today, as we sold our 2007 23SS.
as i had posted in a previous thread, we retired 2 years ago and the hybrid no longer fit our newer camping style. plus the DW had to have a walk-around bed.
so, today i sold it to a nice couple that planned on sharing it with their daughter and grandkids.
sold it for above NADA average retail, which was good since its decals were gone or going and we had a repaired floor in it. but the interior was in great shape. we took good care of her.
i still love hybrids and will continue to recommend them and follow all my hybrid forums. i will continue to be active here as i'm still a hybrid owner in my heart.
but now CamperRoo has moved on to make memories for another family.
i now own a "shoebox" TT but the DW is happy and is actually looking more positively toward camping more. having theater recliners also helps.
i might be able to get another truck in the next year so that will make me happy too.

Taking a wild guess I assume you got in the 7K to 8K range which is awesome for a 10 year old hybrid. You got your moneys worth out of that one? Congrats.

I know what you mean about your heart still being with the Roo. When we sold our 23SS four years ago, I hated to see it go, although I did enjoy the amenities our Flagstaff offered. The Roo was our first venture into a hardside camper and we made the most of it. Although we didn't own ours for as long as you owned yours, I still got pretty attached to it.
Congrats on the new TT. May it bring more memories than the Roo.

It was always sad selling the old "campers" but made me feel good that I was passing along the opportunity for another family to enjoy the great outdoors. Congrats on the sale and to moving up to the next level!

Cheers to you friend

I understand your feelings. I'm still a hybrid lover at heart, too. I was sorry to see our Roo 19 go. Wish they'd made the 23IKSS or 24WS when we bought the 19.

Similar sentiment to when I sold our boat years ago, except when the new owners pulled it out of our driveway and went around the corner I broke into a dance.

There are two "happiest days" associated with boats: The day you buy it and the day you sell it!
RV's don't seem to have quite that connotation for most of us, for some reason.

Yep, sold it for $7500.
The outside decals had suffered from years in the California sun. I never waxed it. But I did wash it.
But the interior was in prime shape. Had to do a floor repair in the back, from a slow water leak under the toilet so the linoleum was different from the rest of it.
But everything still worked great.
I never missed our two popups but I will always miss the Roo.
And I'll never forget our 5 day trip(November 2006), from Napa, California to Chicago, to pick up the Roo.

You might have sold your 'beloved 23SS' but the great memories will always be there. So many people have benefited from your advice over the years on this and other forums. Congrats on your Tracer!
