Stereo replacement ideas

So I blew the lousy IRV stereo combo and was wondering if anyone has ever replaced one that can fit in this hole.
Looking for recommendations and experiences

I'm thinking a car stereo if mine ever goes out. They make mounting kits along with some nice large touch screens models that would fill the hole nicely. A couple of planks of wood flooring as a replacement for the panel to make cutout that would fit.
