Still Waiting

Our 23ikss came off the factory line April 25th. It seems a long time to deliver it to VT. Is anyone else still waiting longer than expected? Kick off starts next week!

Put deposit on March 16th, came off the assembly line a week or 2 ago. The rig only has to go 3 hours from the factory to me.

The problem stems from the harsh winter delaying deliveries and a shortage of transport drivers.

Might be because the manufacturers are having difficulties getting enough delivery people. Seems they just upped the mileage reimbursement another $.20 cents per mile, to try and lure more drivers to help the backlog at the factory lots. Have no idea if thats your issue. What about calling to go pick it up if your set up to do so. Then negotiate the delivery charge to cover your costs. Just a suggestion.

I was at my dealer last week, he is having a STROKE because he can't get units delivered to him.
He said they have over 5,000 trailers to be delivered and they can't find drivers.
He was almost hysterical when talking about it because he can't get the inventory on his lot.
So don't feel alone, it isn't just you.

For anyone waiting (especially as close as 3 hours away)- push your dealer to send their own drivers to get the units. As end consumers, we can't go get them but the dealer is able to contract the work themselves and dictate the schedule (vs. being at the mercy of the manufacturer's transport company).

Ours came off the line April 4th, didn't get to the dealer till May 5. There is a massive backlog in RV's waiting to be delivered. Picking ours up Tuesday may 20th in Albany, NY. I might add that the dealer went and got it instead of waiting for it to be delivered

I live in Elkhart. They are advertising hard chore trying to find delivery drivers. The manufacturers have rent additional space to store the back log

We were told to expect our 23IKSS in 8-10 weeks. It is now 8 weeks, so I emailed to check the status. Our camper arrived yesterday!! The bad news is that there was some cabinet damage during the transport. The new cabinet equipment takes 2 weeks to arrive. Our dealer said we could do one of two things: either pick up the camper Tuesday and bring it back when the cabinet stuff arrives or pick up the camper June 7 in hopes that the cabinets will be fixed.

My hubby says to pick up June 7; it'll speed up the process. Waiting for the equipment to come might take a while if the camper isn't taking up space. What do you think?

I agree with your husband. I would wait.
My biggest worry was the trailer sitting on a lot for 2-4 weeks waiting to get delivered and having a leak and getting water damage. However, no leaks. Just got back from a 3 day trip everyone stayed dry. I washed the camper when we got back and nothing got inside so for now good to go. I also used a trick I found on here somewhere about turning 1-2 roof fans (make sure all windows and the door is closed) on when closing up to help suck the canvas in and that helps.
