Stray Wire

2013 23SS

Found a stray wire and I'm curious where it goes or what it might be for.

It's a two strand wire - yellow and white.

It's in the lower cabinet on the floor below the stereo, next to the door.

It feeds into a plastic wire wrap in the rear of the cabinet and appears to head back toward the front and not up to the stereo but I could be wrong.

Anyone have an idea? Is it for an option I don't have installed?

Hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like speaker wire?

Do you have a speaker that's not working?

It's fairly heavy wire.

Both inside and outside speakers are working.

The end of the wire is cut square and not stripped back.

Looks like the wire they use for the 12v dc. Is it live?

That was gonna be my next guess.

Actually, my first guess was a 110v wire, until I noticed picture 2 that showed one and put the yellow wire into scale.

The white will be ground and the yellow 12 volts if it's hooked up. Could be a option that you do not have. Is this in the same area as the breakers and fuses? I see the Orange 110vac in the back picture

Stray Wire

Not near the fuses.

14 gauge. Marked "low voltage wire"

No power to it. I'm currently on shore power.

Just went to straight battery power. The wire is still not live.

Ok. By it saying low voltage that would be a 12 volt wire. Does the white wire show groung? You might pull you power center apart and see if the other end is hooked up and just has no fuse, or if the wire is just hanging behind the power center

When you say Power Centre are you referring to the panel or inverter or other ?

Power center was referring to where the breakers are and the fuses. Also the converter is there too.

Ok. Hmmm it's on the other side of the trailer from this end. Little more difficult to get into. I'll have to try later.

Do you have a power awning? That would be where the 12V goes out to the awning motor.

My wire is spiced to a red and black wire that feeds through the outside wall right behind the awning support. I assume it goes to the motor but can't extend the awning right.

So you did check it with a volt meter, 12v and 110? Are all of the 12 fuses 'in' the fuse box or is there any 'tabs' that do not have fuses in them?

Checked with a meter. No power

Will check fuses later today.

Seems this might be for a power awning. I have a manual.

Now wondering if I can repurpose it and hook something up maybe a self installed accessory

If it is a rough-in for the power awning option, the other end is probably at your switch panel. Might be able to connect to 12V behind there and use it for something (like LED awning lights).

Good suggestion!
