Power management system. That way if weather is bad you don't have to go outside for codes, also has A/C delay, it's harder to steal.

One thing to remember when installing a hard wired that is forgotten about. Most units have a time delay (2 minute 15 second delay) and when plug it in, run inside to turn on the A/C, BAM!!! No power!! Just wait, it's coming!!! It seems like for ever when your in a hurry.

I have a portable unit and I added plugs in the bathroom vanity and connected it there where the cord comes into the unit. With the partition removed, I can open the door on the vanity and easily see the readout and I don't need to worry about hooking it up or securing it. I was also able to easily unplug it and move it to my new Roo!

I bought a portable 30amp surge protector band name with a plastic housing that locks around the connection to the pedestal. The problem is my TT came with a quick release power cord so if someone wants to steal it they just unscrew the power cord from the TT and take the whole cord with the surge protector connected. Wish there were a way to lock the twist power cords to the TT.

Some of the power pedestals have a cover with a hasp that you can lock shut so the one end of the surge protector is locked. Unfortunately if someone wants it bad enough, they'll get it anyway.

Ok, bear with me. For security reasons if I buy the portable power management, I was thinking of plugging the RV power-cord into the pedestal, then plugging the PM into the end of the rv power-cord. The PM will be secured inside a compartment. From there, running a shorter power-cord from the PM to the camper. Thoughts?

That seems overly complicated IMHO. If you going to go with the portable one, just run a chain or a cable through the metal ring.
I'm not even sure it would plug into the female end of your cord if it's the twist lock.

I believe that locks give semi-dishonest people incentive. The surest way to tell other people who might not normally know that something's valuable is to put a lock on it.
This is the logic I use as an excuse for my laziness in not locking up my portable unit. I figure if I lock it, people will know it's valuable and try to take it. But if I don't, then they don't give it a second glance.
At least that's the story I'm sticking with.

I'm going seasonal this year and the pedestal is situated in a way where my PM would be hanging over another campers 30A outlet. Yup, mine is right above his. It's complicated all right. I'll figure something out.

Well, in that case I have used mine in between my 30A extension and the trailer cord (which has the same twist locks like yours at the trailer end). You could just get the shortest cord you can find to run pedestal to PI, then run PI to trailer.
