Sway control
So just took camper out for the first time and was in a rush due to someone waiting to back in a site. I forgot to take the sway bar off. I'm sure I'm not the only one to do this before lol, but it bent the actual head on the weight distribution isntead of bending or snapping parts off the sway control:/ rather have had that happen. But my question is should I hear this up and bend it back down? Or just leave it, it's probable bent up about 1/8 inch or a little more .

I would replace the ball when you get home. I'm not sure about trying to bend back might snap off.

A 14" crescent wrench and a 2' or 3' pipe will work wonders.

If it is not bent too much I would leave it. Never be in a rush when trying to get into a campsite. We all have been there, and i am willing to wait for a person to back into their site. Our head has been bent for two years now with no problems. If you try to bend it back you might just damage the head beyond repair.

I think OP is talking about the sway control mount which is usually on the side of the hitch head and is either 3/8" or 1/2" bar stock welded to the hitchhead itself and should be able to be bent back down with a crescent wrench, long pipe and a little heat without damaging anything.

Yeah it's the part where the swsy bar mounts to the hitch head except this is a eaz lift brand that has the attachment build right in for either side sway control, and it's all one unit. It's not that bad so I'm thinking that I can bend it back the 1/8 inch or so with heat and cresent wrench, map gas should do the truck just kinda sucks it new :/

You can post a pic by rotting the "reply to thread button". Then on the reply screen you will see a "+" button by the send button. You'll see "attach from camera" and "attach from photos".

And I would try not to use heat as is could possibly make the metal brittle.

Leave it, it has not moved enough to be a problem.

Heat will not have an effect on this steel as it is HRPO steel welded on the hitch head. It is not a high carbon content steel.

After seeing the pictures, I wouldn't mess with it either unless you just want to. It will not effect the functioning of the sway control.

Thanks for posting pics for me I am picky so I prob will at least make an attempt to try to straighten it but if unsuccessful I will just leave it, so I should or shouldn't use heat, I'm thinking to try without first, thanks everyone for the support

Would try without heat and if unable to straighten it cold, then heat will not hurt it as long as you use a heating tip and not a cutting tip to heat. Let it cool naturally, do not quench with water. REMOVE BOTH BALLS before heating.
