Tank sensors

I noticed our last camping trip our sensors for fresh/grey/black don't seem to work correctly. We drained our fresh water but the sensor shows full or 2/3 full. Grey/Black it will show 1/3 most of the time. Other times it will show full and the next 1/3 w/out dumping or moving the camper.
Is it normal these sensors don't work or should I have them checked out?

Well...ours is doing the same...was working fine till I let it sit dry over winter. I just purchased some powdered Calgon water softener and will be putting in the black tank during travel to next outing. Probably will put some ice and a little laundry soap as well. Hope it works ... I'm sure it will eventually start working...

been a pretty normal thing for years on RV's. a quick search on any RV forum would've told you that.

many install Horst Probes, in place of the OEM ones.

have you used any kind of flushing device or are you just draining the tank and that's all?

X2 Dan's Comments both on Horst and flushing. Very common

I just experience the same problem. Drained my black water and it's showing 2/3 full! Thought perhaps toilet paper might be the problem??? We don't do "number 2" in our toilet so I can't think of it being anything else.

TP is a myth. NEVER the problem with OEM probes. They are way too short to attract that problem.

It is 100% slime on the walls that short the probes to the ground probe.
