Yeah, not when the people doing the slicing is on drugs. We get that a lot in New Mexico and they dont care if you point a gun at them or not.

Not everyone wants to carry S&W or similar. Personal choice to do so as with how to sleep comfortably. After 3 decades on the road, I can understand why a concern about how to safely spend a night in unfamiliar circumstances. To each their own as their comfort level dictates, without judgement as to the protection level chosen as long as good judgement is used. Now about 'good judgement....'

In our 23IKSS we have 2 adults and 3 teenagers. There is not enough room for us to turtle so we have to put the bunk ends down.

Flagstaff Twin Arrows casino. Lots of room for RVs if you ever need it.

This is a tough one! On the one hand you have to pop them out to sleep properly in your rig.
Walmart extends the courtesy to allow us to overnight while traveling (or at least they used to - a lot of Walmart’s are stopped that policy).

But it’s always been considered properly etiquette to not “camp” in the parking lot!

Stopping overnight and camping are very different!

It’s frowned on to open up your awning, or set up camp chairs, or get out the BBQ and start dinner!
It’s even considered bad etiquette to open slides - but it’s done all the time. Some RVs really need slides open at least partly in order to move around inside.

So I’d probably say in this case you pretty much need to open up the tent ends to make use of the beds.

Many here have brought up the security aspect.
Personally anytime I have “overnight” in Walmart, I don’t really feel completely safe. Simply put - it’s a 24 hour business, lots of activity all night long and I don’t rest well there. I much prefer overnight in a Cracker Barrel lot.

SO you rather stay at a cracker barrel where your all alone and a better chance of having a problem?

So Please do tell me where I can find a list of good and bad etiquette
As the way I see the world no one has no what you may call etiquette when you can go to Walmart wearing your pjs ( some call them lounging pants) , go to church in a tee shirt, just look around you anymore its always this how I feel comfortable so I am comfortable putting my slide out out and dropping my tent ends

Restating the obvious - yes that’s pretty much what I said.
I understand your logic. (Staying around people makes “you” feel safer). And that’s fine for you.
I had camp chairs stolen out of the bed of my truck at Wally in broad daylight while in the store, my fath in bystanders (or activity around me at night) making things safer is less than yours.
I’ve never seen anyone but local law enforcement ride though CB at night.
I’m a light sleeper.
If a vehicle pull in next to me at CB then I know to keep an eye on them until I’m satisfied no harm intended.

Vehicles coming and going all night at Wally, street sweepers, etc. no rest.
I’ll still sleep at Wally but If a CB is close I’ll check it out first.

Escapees and other organizations have created a “code of etiquette” for overnighting at businesses.

All the etiquitte is made up by whoever publishes it. It's not "official" by any stretch.

I put my stabilizers down. Some day don't, others say ok. I can't fathom why anyone would care (no parking lot damage), so I do it. The golden rule or do no harm seems the most fitting.

Personally, I'd see no harm in a lawn chair for a bit or even a BBQ to make burgers. I'd just pack it up when done. I'm sure plenty here will be astounded at my horrible horrible choices and rail me for "can't afford to stay in a campground"...
All that said, we usually pull in way past 10 or 11 and just go to bed. In the morning we get ready, buy donuts and get going again.
