Tent Ends Out for Quick Overnight?
Simple question....when stopping for one night of shut-eye at a Walmart or Cracker Barrel or rest stop, do you feel safe enough to put out your tent ends or keep turtled up? Just looking for a general consensus.
TIA!

I wouldn’t leave it unattended at Walmart open, but sleeping in it? Sure.

We setup the dinette as a bed for our stays at Cracker Barrel. We did put the slide-out out .

Nope, no way I would put the tent beds out in any parking lot.

Don't have a camper with tent ends, but generally it's not a good idea to make your camper look like you are camping in it while in a parking lot. Plus it's too easy to slice through canvas.

Are you guys afraid of the boogeyman? I doubt anyone will slice thru the tent if your sleeping in the camper. That’s a quick way to catch a bullet.

Paranoia runs deep. Find some place safe to sleep and don't worry about it.

I would not do it just because i would hate to put them out and then have to put them right back in the next morning. seems like a lot of work to me. i would put the slide out and use that space for our mattress topper for comfort. our kids sleep on the sofa and table beds but i would be willing to sleep on the floor just overnight.

I've never stayed overnight in a parking lot, but I don't think I'd put out the tents. Maybe depending on how many people are traveling with us. Lately it's just been the DW and kid so we can comfortably stay turtled up.

The wife & I have stopped many times at Walmart for the night but neither of us are comfortable putting the tent beds out, feel to vulnerable & wouldn’t be able to sleep.
On another subject-I’ve been reading the forum for a while now but I can’t figure out what DW stands for as it pertains to our wife’s.

We are planning on staying in the parking lot at the Flagstaff casino Saturday night. We will be closed up, forecast is 28 degrees.

We turtle in our 24WS. We can even let the sofa out without the slide deployed but touches the cabinets. Even in camp if we know the morning will be raining for departure we put fold up the last night and turtle. I hate having to fold up wet tent then hope I can let it out when I get home instead of having to wait for a dry day.
