Tent Ends Sun Damage?

I don't usually camp more that one week at a time, but recently here at home after de-winterizing, I left my tent ends out for about three weeks. Hubby says it's probably not good to leave the tent ends open for that period of a time due to prolong sun damage. Is that something I should be more aware of? Thanks in advance!

That's why most of us recommend getting PUGs to help protect the canvas.

Pugs not only protect the tent ends from the sun but also from sap and bird droppings.

The tent fabric is UV stabilized. Sunlight won't affect it.

My pontoon boat has similar material for its cover, it has been out in the sun (and rain) every day of its life since 2001 and its not faded or damaged in the slightest.

But I would still recommend the PUGs for all the reasons listed above

I camp for 3 months at a time in the FL sun in the winter, and have now for two years...plus normal summer camping for several weeks. I do get on a step ladder once a year and spray on 303 UV Protectant and I have not had any sun-fade or any sun related issues yet on my Shamrock 183 (3 tent ends).

Six years with my 21SS out all summer long and beyond. Rarely put a protecting product on it. However, always used PUGs and Reflectix inserts religiously. Never a crinkle, tear or crazy discoloration.

PopupGizmos

PopUpGizmo or PUG.

This is the inventor of same and there have been no complaints ever. Guy was a NASA engineer. Of course you can also fabricate something on your own but for the price and great sizing, these are the best.
