Tent opening problem

To all.....new to FRF so here goes.

I have a 2002 Rockwood Roo 23ft which so far we like a lot. Haven't camped in it yet, a lot of cleaning needed from the previous owner.

But here is the problem. Attached you will see (2) pics it is on the front bed tent.

You will see the openings I talk about. Originally when we set up prior to buying I didn't notice this, but now this seems to be a problem. So here are my concerns

It seems as though the fabric/vinyl is lacking in this area for the tent....is this normal?
Should I stiff this area when it is set up?
I fear rain can get in this area and go between the rubber gasket this extends from main camper to bed base?
Many other but these are the main.

Also and good tips on removing Rust and mildew on interior parts of the tent areas?

Any help is greatly appreciated

I don't know if it's "normal" but my 2012 Apex 151RBX has similar openings. A few weeks ago I camped through several days of severe thunderstorms and did not have any water enter the camper at all.

it appears you have a Rockwood Roo, which is a hybrid. what your pics show appear to be somewhat normal. there are small gaps, between the hinge and where the velcro starts.

unless rain can go up, it shouldn't be a issue.

it's to hard
say for sure, just from the pics.
i'll try and take pics of my Roo, in the same area for comparison.

I also believe this is normal but would need to double-check.

I also think that this is normal. Our last camper was a pop up and it had areas where the canvas didn't meet. I think it is so when putting it down or in it is less likely to get caught.
