Is your smoke detector right over the stove? That's where they put it in our pop-up and also in the Class we rented in Alaska. How dumb! Then one night in Homer our neighbors had a smoky campfire going for a bit and so did the smoke alarm!

In our 23IKSS it is now located over the sofa. If I don't use the exhaust fan over the stove it sometimes goes off.

Most who complain about condensation and uncomfortable mattresses, haven't used PUGS and foam toppers.

It's over by the side bunk across from the bathroom. It mainly just goes of for bacon and sausage etc and occasionally if you open the oven to check on a pizza. It don't care if the fan is on it will still go off.

Bacon and sausage triggered ours often. One time boiling water did it. Once I was able to open the outside vent door then I could use the hood fan.

I wonder if one of those "noodles" people swim with could be slit and placed over the edge of the shelf. Since it is styrofoam it would not be really chilly?

We fold up a blanket into a couple of layers, place it under the mattress so it hangs over the shelf edge. Doesn't hurt the shins, haven't had the cold issue but might help.

We have a 5" memory foam topper on our mattress and it still sucks...really sucks. if I were to get rid of my hybrid, it would be because of the crappy, uncomfortable mattresses that come with them. I have a 2014 23ikss. Love, love, love it, but man...when you dread going to bed because of the pain in your back in the am..something's gotta give.

I am currently looking into a custom mattress for it. I can't take it anymore.

I don't have pugs and have camped in 40 degree weather in May, 90's in August and haven't had any condensation yet. But there's always a first time. hehehe.
