Thermostat Modification...Will This Work?

I am preparing to change out the thermostat that came with my Roo 233s and want to go digital. I was ready to go the typical route and install a Honeywell home model that runs on batteries until I stumbled on this which would leave me with the option of running the fan on high and low. When you install the Honeywell you only have the option of running on high. I hesitate because of my concerns it might not be compatible. Has anyone installed this? Thanks for the input.

Good feedback. Can you answer these questions...
1. Does it run on batteries or only 12v
2. Match up wire for wire when connecting
3. How do the wires connect with the wires in the camper..require any cutting of wires etc.

Thanks for the positive feedback.

1. 12 volt only, has no batteries
2. Matches wire for wire
3. The original installation used wire nuts. I used crimp connectors.
4. Uses same screw holes to mount to wall.

Les.

Great information again. I am looking forward to keeping full functionality with this. Its a bit more expensive but not excessive and I dont have to change any batteries! I have made the purchase. Thanks Les.

So it runs off 12v only. So im guessing that if im boon docking and on house battery i could not run my heater. Im looking to make the swap myself. The thermo thats in my tt is not very accurate. I turn it down to 65 and the temp is around 78 running the ac. and this can be on a 80 degree day outside. same goes for heat.

Yes, it has a slide switch with off in the middle and a/c to one side and heat to the other.

Your heater runs on 12v, ie your battery and does not require 120v. However it can drain your battery quick. Also might be worthy to note that by adding this modification, it is just another object that steals battery power, not sure how much but just be prepared.
