thermostat replacement question

I purchased the Hunter 42999B to change out the thermostat in my Roo 21SS. I went to do it today to get ready for our spring break trip and had printed out these instructions.

When I pulled mine and clipped the wires off, I realized mine were different colors. I have red, yellow, green, blue, white, grey. Have any other Roo owners done the mod with these wires colors? The instructions don't refer to a green or grey but instead have a orange and black.

What you can do with a meter 12v. Red should be power, yellow ac compressor, green and blue either high speed fan or low and gray could be ground. If you have 12 volt between red and gray that's your ground. use a jumper from red to each color and see what comes on then, but not the gray. Also you can pull the filter and check the wire terminal there, should be a box. Just make sure you know which is the ground (gray) I think? But I also do not own a roo......

What brand and model did you remove from your roo?

I use the same Hunter as you:
on the plate that fastens to the wall: G W Y RH RC for the hunter.

G has a wire from the center pin of switch added for HI-LO speed
W Has white wire connected
Y has yellow wire connected
RH and RC has a jumper between the two
RED is attached to RH
BLUE wire is not used
GRAY wire is hooked to outside pin of added switch for HI-LO speed
GREEN wire is hooked to other outside pin of added switch HI-LO speed
I mounted the switch to the wall plate

I used a toggle switch, 3 pole double throw. Another words the toggle has three poles to connect to, a center pin connects to "G" on wall plate
One of the outside pines connects to the gray wire
the other side pin connects to the green wire

Thermostat? It's a Coleman Mach AR7815.

Thanks Daisy!! I went today and hooked it all up. I couldn't test the A/C since I have no electric but did check the heat and all worked great. Now I'm all set for Spring Break.

Well once I get the license plate on. What a crappy way FR did the bracket, and I use that term loosely, for the license plate and then not to supply screws. I'll have to go to Lowes and see what hardware I can find to get it mounted. I tried some screws with the plastic nuts that would normally mount in a car but I couldn't hold the nut tight enough to be able to turn the screw plus I think the screw would have been too long.

Agree on the plate holder hardware. I ended up putting my plate on using plastic tie wraps.

Oh well - what can we expect. After all FR gave us these RV's.

I thought I was the only one to dislike the plate hook up. The temporary tag was held with nut and bolt(screw is more accurate) sets that had the screws coming from behind and the nuts on the front. It was a pain, but doable.

I used 1/4" X 20 X 1" long with a hex head of 7/16", stainless with locking ss nuts with the plastic insert. Worked for me.

Now you can reach behind the bracket with a open end 7/16" wrench.

submersible tail, turn, stop led lights. They are intended for boat trailer, water proof. Available at Northern Tools for around $50.00. They are super bright maybe 10 times as bright as factory lights.

They do get the attention of the driver behind you. even a PHAT PHROG
could see em.

Hay I remember in Florida and you told alan and Kathy with the Rockwood Mini light TT about the lights and he ordered them that day, he said he got them for $32.00 bucks each and that sent you back home to get your sipping RUM. I will say they are really bright even in the day when you hit the breaks. It seems most new cars are going to that LED tail lite. Sid I guess you are just ahead of the curve, kinda like the "OLDCOOT"...

How about a picture and a supplier of your lights if you can get out of your rocking chair.
