Today's project

Made a set of wheel chocks today. I painted the outside yellow to help us remember to remove them before departing.

I am wondering, the blocks look a tad short in length, have you tested them out on your trailer?

This is on one my future mods list. I will be cutting one into shape using this

Adjustable Clamp, 10 in. Wood Hand Screw, 1-3PK at The Home Depot - Mobile

They fit fine, I measured them before I cut.

Added some awning poles and a couple pieces to the sliding portion of screen door, so it could be opened from either side without trashing the screen

Jeff,
Did you do the awning poles yourself? That's on my list too.

One option for purchasing brackets is to send a PM to OldCoot. He has made brackets available for members of the ForestRiverForum for a few years now. I bought a set of brackets and poles from him and they are one of the top 5 mods to our Shamrock. It is so nice to leave the awning out for the duration of the trip.

No, they aren't NEEDED.
We've never needed these in the 9 years we've had out Roo.
But they are a nice option.
OC puts out a great product from what I've read here.

I have heard great things about the old coot version but i was curious about making this myself if someone could just tell me what to pick up. This looked pretty plug-n-play.

I am probably over-cautious but i always put my awning in if it is even a little breezy. I am just looking for a way to have it out more often.

You could always buy the brackets from OldCoot and then fabricate the poles yourself. The kit includes both the upper brackets that the poles attach to and also the lower brackets which are used for storing the poles while traveling.

X2. I was lucky enough to get a set of poles and bracket kit from OC. Wouldn't camp without them. It's nice to not worry about whether or not the awning will be there when you get back, and your stuff stays dry. When 4 awnings are destroyed in your campground during a storm and OC's poles held firm with no damage, made a believer out of us.

PM the only and or best way to reach OldCoot? We had a storm pop up on us unexpectedly over our Labor Day weekend trip. I was at a different site and ran back to ours just in time to grab the awning before the wind started trashing it. It'd be nice to have some insurance and not have to put the awning up when strong winds arrive.

PM is likely the best. Believe he's just back from Alaska.
