Also in Michigan - have always just unplugged the TV's & left them where they sit or hang. Never any problems. (I also spread around a box of dryer sheets & set out a 4lb tub of Damp Rid).

Ours is stored outdoor as well, and we all know winters are just as rough in Maine. The televisions always stayed in the camper, and never had any problems. As SRN said: remove the batteries from all the remotes you have in the camper.
Also make sure anything that has a scent (dish soap, shampoo, toothpaste, any food etc etc) are all removed from the camper. These are things that will attract rodents......also all clothes and blankets.
Not much left in our hybrid when we're done with it.....Sure don't want the mice to feel at home !!!

We leave the tv in, all food, bedding, paper goods etc out, lots of mothballs in.
Just finished our last trip today. Started emptying the camper when we got home. Clean tomorrow. Least favorite time of the season

Depends on the type of TV. If it's a 'liquid" crystal display (LCD), I would take it out & store it in the house. The instructions on one I had once said something like "operating temperature range 15 degrees F to 110 degrees F". I assume (yeah, I know) they state this because they don't want you to plug in and turn on a nearly frozen LCD. But, if your going to put your RV in storage and never use it at those temps., it may be OK. I always took mine out just to be safe (didn't want to find out what may happen to a frozen then thawed LCD.

Operating and storage temps are two different animals. I can tell you what happens when you try to power up an LCD that has been in sub-zero temps... it shatters. I am a southern boy, 40° is C-O-L-D! My company in their infinite wisdom sent me to upstate New York in February! I got in very late so I left my briefcase in the car overnight, next morning I walked into the office, plugged up my laptop and powered it up. No presentation on that one! To add insult to injury I had a bottle of scotch in the car trunk too. Who knew that the freezing point of scotch was -16°F it got down to -24° that night.

I think you will be just fine storing it in cold temps, just don't try to start it.

I always wondered about this. That, and navigation systems in cars. Or even the basic LCD screens in cars and trucks.

I think most "screens" in modern cars are LED.....no temperature problems there.

I'd think if the TV needed to come out for the winter, the owner's manual would say so.

It doesn't.

The TV's owners manual or the RV's owners manual......and we all know how helpful that is!

I meant TV owners manual, but neither owners manual says to bring the TV indoors in winter.

My TV manual is about as helpful as my RV owner's manual...

I wanted to know what the power draw was, not in the manual, had to unmount the friggin thing to find out it was 65 watts.

Yeah, probably because TV manufacturers haven't caught up with us RV'ers having their products in RV's exposed to all kinds of temperature & humidity swings when being used, closed up & stored.

TV stays in the rig, batteries out of the door locks, smoke detectors and remote controls. Had way to many burst on mt in the winter as they sit.

No sense coming back to leaky battery damage.
