The reason I ask is that they might have included that in the cost of a WDH (if you bought it from them and they are installing it).

If not, and you are responsible for providing it, they range in price but you can get one for about $10 and spend more for chrome or a longer shank.

By drop down, I take it you mean the shank? It will come with a shank so you don't use anything you have today. And there are different adjustable shanks to fit various combinations of trucks and TTs.

Here's what the 1,000/10,000lbs Equal-i-zer hitch comes with if you buy online: hitch head, 1 standard shank, 2 sway controls brackets, 2 spring arms, 1 snap up lever and the hardware.

This is what it will look like when assembled...


The hitch ball is not included when you typically order it online (it needs to be a 2-5/16" ball with a 1-1/4" diameter threaded shank no longer than 2-3/8").

The dealer usually supplies the ball (probably for a charge) when they install it.

You should not have to supply it if you are buying from the dealer and they are installing. Unless of course they told you to supply it but I can't see why they would do that - too much room for error and they want to be able to set up and get you on the road.

I suggest you call the dealer and verify this information. 10 to 1 the dealer will supply the right ball since you are buying from them and they are installing.

That looks intimidating...I'm sure they will have me comfortable with it by the time I leave. The dealer so far has been on there game except for price (found out after comitting to them) I was told they will actually test drive with me when the pdi is complete with the trailer in tow.

I know it looks intimidating so to help you become less intimidated, I've attached the manual for your reading pleasure.

Actually, I highly recommend you take some time to read through it.

This will help you immensely to understand the hitch when you go through the PDI and, more importantly, when you are on your own.

You will need to adjust it and maintain it. Might as well get comfortable with it now.

I have a 2009 23SS which I pull with a 2004 Toyota Tundra with a 4.7 liter V8. This combination has serve me well and the trailer tows with little effort. In fact, last year we drove over 8K miles touring the country from east coast to west coast with no problems whatsoever.

Ok on another thought.... Got it home friday and set up was piece of cake. We have the canvas material on the sides of the bed ends. It appears we had rain puddle at bottom where the zipper seam is, or at least i think it puddled because the bed which was touching the canvas was soaked.. Any thoughts or has anyone put some type of repellant on the canvas windows?? Thanks in advance

My first thought is that the seams need to seal. The seams need to get wet and expand and letting it sit with your bunks open - but zipped of course in the rain is the best way to do this. Make sure it is completely dry before you button it up again and see how that works.

We bought an early 12 model off the lot so it has been sitting outside for plenty of rain to seal thread in seams..

Are you sure they ever had it open while sitting on the lot? I'd think they'd want to avoid having to dry it before closing it. I vote for seams needing seasoning... (I'm being optimistic) :-)

the bed getting wet touching the canvas, could also be from condensation.
did you have the vents open to allow air movement?

Yes I had both vents open with the maxiiair cover due to the posts I read on here I had them installed... Yes they are all open on the lot for display, anytime I have been by there all there hybrids have been open, day or night. It does not appear this was from condensation due to how wet the bed was. The canvas was also wet on the inside at the bottom seam.

Well, I think if your have eliminated the obvious ones (seasoning and condensation) than you probably have a leak.

The first thing I would check is the seam with a flashlight and then probably go into the dealers to have it taken care of under warranty.

This will take a couple of people, but at night when its very dark, have someone shine a flashlight at the zipper and seams from the outside. You will be inside the camper and will check for pinholes, tears, and gaps. There may be a defect that you can see to point out to the dealer.

Definitely take it back to the dealer to have them repair.

We bought a 23ss used 2007 obly been used 10 time has been in storage for 2 years
We did buy a Chevy Silverado Truck to pull it Havent been camping yet, but cant wait Good luck let us know how you like your RORO

with 4 kids, was there a reason you didn't buy a 3-bed hybrid or a bunkhouse hybrid?
