USB charger

I was excited that our Roo Had a USB charger under the TV in our IKSS. However when I plug in my IPhone, nothing. The blue light is on but it does not charge. Does this work for others? If so any ideas? I tried multiple cords to be sure it was just not a bad cord. Thanks.

Are you sure that is a USB charger and not a USB input to TV/Stereo.

Ok. Thanks. Obviously it has power as the blue light is on. Will do some playing to see what might be wrong.

While we're on the subject of this charging station, is it supposed to work while running on battery power, or only when the camper is plugged in? I swear that mine worked off the battery originally but last time I tried I needed to be hooked to shore power.

Mine does not work with either. However when only on battery the blue light comes on so I would assume it is intended to work either way.

The charging station has USB ports and a 12v cigarette lighter socket. Do you have a car charger that you can plug into the 12v socket to see if that works?

Some phones/devices seem to require a higher voltage to charge. I have one phone that will only charge with its own USB connector. Seems to vary by brand and model of phone. Suggest trying a different device to determine if it's the USB connector or the device that is the issue.

I was able to charge my iPad Air 2 this past weekend using that USB port. The battery was down to about 40% and by morning it was 100%. I have charged my iPhone 5s as well. I use the standard issue Apple Lightning USB cable. I was on shore power.

^^This^^ My Samsung phone and DS's I-pad won't charge on ours. Thought it didn't work until DW plugged her HTC phone in and charged it with no issues.

Tried at lunch today the 12 volt plug and it worked fine but plugged iPhone into USB and nothing. That is the only thing I need to charge while camping. Oh well. At least it was a good concept.

Ours works with our iPhones. But until you figure out why it isn't working, just get one of the 12v usb car adapters and do it that way.

Yes. That is what we will do. I just wanted to be able to **** the cabinet door which will not be possible going that route.

My daughter just bought an iPhone and she was told the old charger (wall wart) wouldn't work, she'd need to use the new one. They told her the car charger WOULD work. I assume it's a voltage thing.

I would love to do this. Should be simple if we can make it run off 12V. I will search the forum and other spots

The USB port at entertainment center won't charge our iPhones but the one next to our bed will. So...as others have said...we put in 12b socket plug
