Vent open or closed while in storage?

This seems to be up for debate so let's take a poll. While your RV is in storage, do you prefer to leave a vent / window cracked for air circulation, or do you keep it closed up tightly?

Our storage is a whopping 3 steps away from the back door. If a storm is planned it gets closed up, but it mostly has widows and vets open.

Our's is stored next to the garage.

We have three vents with covers, and I leave them open all year.
If a heavy storm is expected, I'll close them down some but still leave them cracked open.

Previous RV kept vents open in summer to ventilate, but found it allowed humidity to build up over time. On this one, keep completely closed and have a small dehumidifier running during humid months I do open vent about 1" or 2" in winter.

In northern climates, wouldn't you get snow packs inside even with a 1-2" opening of the vent? I have to store my RV 10 minutes from home, so I cant (nor care to) rush over everytime there is a precip warning.

Ditto. It probably depends too on what part of the country your in, and the season, but doesn't do me much good to dehumidify then let all the humid air back in.

In Wisconsin, it is closed up tight all winter, shades drawn and sky light closed. In summer I leave a window open slightly.

What's the purpose to keeping vent open? Is it to keep it from getting musty stagnant air? I ask because I bought mine a year used. He kept the bathroom vent open with the exhaust fan blowing. I've not done it yet but only had it for a little over a month. It's covered well but we live in Houston meaning sauna.

Leave the open all the time, rain or shine, hot or cold, except when the ac is on. Have covers on all 3 vents.

I like to leave mine open year round with the vent covers. This way some air can get in and circulate and excessive heat can vent out. Humidity will build inside if you leave it sealed up tight also in my opinion.

When you live in the Great White North, camping in -40 is likely not that fun - not to mention gotta still work to pay for the new lifestyle. Maybe some day my 'storage' will be at an RV park in the southern USofA!!

I have 3 vent covers and leave my vents half open all the time. Big difference in interior temp with vents open here in central Fl. I'd worry more about mildew with vents closed.

On a side note, those Maxx Air covers are the best. My previous camper did not have them and I could never leave them open. I never really knew what I was missing until now. I have been leaving one open a few inches but I store inside. I am not going to leave them open in winter because mice will know it is my camper and find a way in by parachuting in from the rafters onto the roof, and into the vents. I am not even kidding. I have been at war with the mouse kingdom for several years and they look for every chance to ruin my day.
