Very disappointed in out 233s Roo

After researching for many Months and finally deciding on a new Roo I must say we are so disappointed. First it was the refrigerator not getting cold which it still does not do, the freezer seems fine the refrig was at 70 today, all food tossed out. Every time it rains we have water in the bunks even though they have all been seasoned. (how about maybe they do this at the factory) I'm going to give it another month and try to trade it in. Believe me, Forrest River has not heard the last from me.

Have you contacted your dealer for warranty work? Sorry to hear of your problems, but I would think that would be the first step in resolving problems with a new camper. Also, check through the threads for FR contact numbers. It seems many people had problems solved when they made contact with FR reps directly. Good luck. Hope it works out.

What kind of response have you gotten from your dealer? We had various issues when our camper was new (not unexpected, based on our previous new camper experience), but our dealer was great in getting everything resolved. If the fridge is a lemon, I'd expect they would replace and/or repair it without question. As far as the leaking: First you need to find out where it is leaking from, and then bring the issue to your dealer and/or FR. Ours needed caulking near the corners where the canvas meets the frame, but FR provided the materials and I did the work. I have no doubt that my dealer (who is in Illinois, while we live in Arizona) would have arranged for a local FR repair shop to do the work if I did not feel up to it. When I needed to have the sunlight over the shower replaced (faulty install), my dealer gave me the number of local shops where I could bring it for warranty work. When I called the recommended shops, they got me in promptly and had the repairs done timely. I hope things work out; we are very happy with our 233S.

I hate it when that happens. Especially when you tried so hard to pick just the right one. I'd give the warranty dept a shot, it can't hurt.

Not being condescending but have you lowered the temp in the fridge? there is a slide in the fridge on the right side, and that makes the temp change. If you did do that, sorry, it was just something we found.

And it works opposite what you might expect: Raise it up to lower the temp and slide it down to raise the temp.

Yes thanks we tried the slide. The fins inside the refrigerator are not cold at all. The freezer is working fine. We bought a fan for the inside but still it stays warm. We are camping this week but next week it's going in.

Out of curiosity, what kind of caulking did they send you to reseal where the canvas meets the frame? It look like silicon caulk to me. I want to reseal mine and want to use the correct material.

Use the Alpha LAP sealant that Biken201 showed in his picture or the equivalent Dicor LAP sealant. You definitely do not want to use silicone.

Can you buy that sealer locally, or do you have to get it from FR?

CW, as mentioned, or almost every RV dealership I have been in carries it in their parts department.

I get mine from Amazon.

You will not easily find it at a hardware store.
