Watching movies

We have a 2015 Rockwood Roo 233s. With a genesis sound system. It has the DVD player and a USB port. We have several movies saved on to a flash drive (less DVDs to keep track of).. But we can't figure out how to play them. Maybe this setup won't play them. Does anyone know of a device that we can hook up that will play movies off a flash drive?

Plug sub into iPad and iPad into tv? I've seen my share plug the iPad in to watch his wrestling channel on tv at home before. I would tho k same concept for flash drive.

After you plug your flash drive, take tv remote and press Mode in order to change the input. You should have the option of playing directly from the USB port. Works for me.

The sound system will not play movies via USB. Only mp3 audio.

There is a connector for an ipad (apple box says 30 pin digital AV adapter) that allows you to plug the iPad into the hdmi connector of a TV. You can then plug the usb into the iPad and run it that way. Not sure if your tv has an hdmi outlet or not. If you do have an hdmi outlet, this should work (Dh says this works on our home tv).

You cannot run any video thru the stereo USB, from any source. It cannot process video, only audio.

You can buy an HDMI cable from your laptop or tablet and run directly into the TV.

iPad's don't have USB in. I do use that connector to watch digital copies of movies on the TV from the iPad but it has to already be loaded on the iPad. It wouldn't be able to read from a USB stick.

To the OP, you're either going to have to convert the movies back to disks, or have some kind of computer(or tablet) on hand to play the files. If you're adventurous, you could pick up a Raspberry Pi (Raspberry Pi) and use it to play from USB direct to the TV, but in reality a netbook would probably be the easier choice.

When I driveway camped in the new trailer I tried to do what the OP did and couldn't get it to work. Ultimately I unhooked one of my mini htpc setups from my sitting room and hooked it up to the hdmi input on the tv. Had to adjust the screen size but it worked flawlessly. A laptop/netbook/tablet with hdmi out is probably the only thing that will work.

There are other options if the CGs you go to have wireless internet services, not sure if this is something you might be interested in though.
