Bear Creek is nice. Make you reservation for Loop B if you have a TT longer than 12 feet or bigger than a PUP. Loop A is more for tents and small PUPs.
The lake has a nice swimming area for all and has actual lifeguards on duty. A lot of people fishing and catching catfish, Bluegill and bass.
If you have a small boat, kayak or inner tubes...bring them. Rentals are expensive. No gas motors only electric. Life jackets are mandatory if you are on anything that floats outside of the swimming area.
Bath houses are clean and good but the water pressure in the showers leaves a lot to be desired. Water and electric at the camper sites is very good. Pets are welcome and need to be on a leash if outside unless they are caged. I took my dogs to the large field after the swimming beach closed and let them run loose. They had a great time and the ranger drove by and didn't say anything to me (but like I said the beach was closed so no one was near where I was).
All in all I would rate the park at 8 out of 10.
