Water Heater Cover

Question. Can someone tell me the proper way to open the exterior hot water heater cover? I know this may be the simplest question, but I cannot get mine open on the Roo 23ss 2014.

I am turning the little latch tab and the door is not swinging open like it is glued shut. Does it swing down? Does it need to be pried a little bit?

Thanks

you should just pull the tab out, so it is 90 deg to the door. Then you lineup the tab with the slot in the door. you should then be able to open the door. The tab stays in place so don't try and open it with the tab.

Sometime the door IS glued shut. If they sealed the hot water heater opening with too much sealant, sometimes the edges of the access panel will get glued to the sealant, especially in hot weather. You should be able to pry it open relatively easily, just dont force anything.

You should easily be able to see the door hinge, to determine which way it opens.

Great. Thanks for the info and video! I got it opened. It was glued or caulked shut! I just wanted to be sure and did not want to exert too much force in opening it. I had to pry it open. It looks fairly weathered inside there.
Thanks again!
