Water system info for 233S owners

Most of this should probably have been covered during PDI , but thought that I'd just post some info about the water system in the 233S. The water heater bypass is located under the couch in the front of the trailer behind the water heater. To get to it lay the couch down flat as if making a bed. The seat will then swivel up and you can get in that way to change the valves.
The water filter & pump is located behind a barrier on the left side of the front storage compartment under the front bed. You will need a small square bit to remove the screws to get into this compartment.
Today I went out & thought that I would remove the filter canister & drain it so that I could put the filter in. It was full of water as we had used the trailer several weeks ago. As I hadn't removed the barrier in front of the filter I didn't realize that although sanitizing & flushing the system there was still a small amount of pink in the bottom of the canister. While unscrewing it I was trying to be careful & not spill it, but then I fumbled it & dropped it spilling it on the pump & the carpet in that front compartment. Some of the water ran out through the floor onto the ground outside. I tried to mop up all that I could but the carpet was still damp. I left the cabinets open to air them out. I hope that I didn't do any damage by spilling the water that way. The canister holds about 1 qt. of water & I spilled about 3 cups of that.

rbq, thanks for sharing the info on the water heater and filter. I wouldn't have thought to check the canister either after flushing/sanitizing. Sorry to hear about the spill.

I need to put the filter in. I can't believe they didn't put it in when they dewinterized it.

So I got in there to put the filter in and the canister is shattered. I guess that's what we get for dewinterizing it 3 weeks ago upon delivery. Luckily General RV sells the canisters and I don't have to drive an hour to our dealer.

Home Depot and Lowes also sell the canister if I am not mistaken
I was at Home Depot last night and picked up two 5 micron filters - one for inside and am also going to be installing an outside filter so I am double clean

Got "Rooooby" out of storage a couple of days ago, getting ready to de-winterize. One other thing to keep in mind when dealing with the canister is the metal bracket it is attached to. Make sure to not just grab the canister wrench and start goin' at it. The bracket is not that sturdy and it will bend or break off with the added torque. No I haven't broken mine (yet) but just something from observation. Also just ordered a new filter from FlowPur. Haven't de-winterized this camper before, as it was already done when we got it last year. Hoping it doesn't take long...gonna be at the local campground Friday to kick off a 9 day stay! Nice way to start off the season! Hopefully I can figure out how to officially mount a TV in there. Been so busy lately it got put on the back burner.

Hockeytownmom,
How did the canister get shattered? Did it freeze?

I agree on the bracket that holds the filter. My filter was sitting at an odd angle & it took some effort to get the wrench on the canister. I ended up gently bending the bracket so that the filter was in a more vertical position.

DH took ours out today and connected the two ends with something and we are putting a filter outside the camper. That one is just too easy to spill when changing the filters.
You can also buy replacement filters at Walmart.

I think it did. Upon pickup my dh wanted it dewinterized because we live an hour away from the dealer and he didn't want to drive back down there. He had learned his lesson and won't be doing that again...but I need to learn how to winterize and dewinterize it myself.
