WDH configuration assistance?

Hello. As in my sig (if you see it) I have a 2016 F150 5.5' SCrew and a 2014 Shamrock 21DK. I recently sold the Durango and haven't been camping since. Now I need to adjust my Blue Ox SwayPro WDH to match the F150 receiver so I can go camping next month. (I live in Gainesville, Florida. It was 76 degrees and 65% humidity today.)

Unfortunately, my trailer is in storage and not immediately accessible. Can someone tell me the height of the coupler on a Rockwood/Shamrock hybrid so I can adjust the SwayPro ball height accordingly?

Ideally, can someone with a similar truck and hitch tell me which holes they have their hitch head connected through, to spare me the the experimentation on getting the height/tension right? It probably matters that I have a 7-hole receiver.

What chain link do you typically use to load a 750# spring bar? Yes, I know that may vary based on loading, such as traveling with or without fresh water.

Thanks in advance for this help, and for other help I've received on this forum in the past.

Nobody here has a Roo, Shamrock, Minilite or Ultralite in their driveway? I'm just asking for the coupler height.

Mines in storage also, but I had to do the same when I got my my 2500HD this summer. If I recall, my Mini Lite is 19" (but don't quote me).

I cant get a level measure on our 21DK without moving it, But our 05 Silverado 4x4 sits 24 1/2 inch to the top of the ball sitting on level ground. I run with mine just slightly down in the front. I have towed it a few times without the bars at that height without issues, so that should get you close enough for your 1st trip. Bring your wrench's with you as you may need to adjust the height and or head angle to be perfect. I would look up and print the set up instructions for the hitch for reference.

Sounds about right as your truck should allow for squat ......my 2017 23WS is about 23 3/4" if memory serves dead level. The OP'S 2014 could be different however as the frame could of been different back then. Just as an FYI for others, the 23ikss and 21ss would be different as they have a dropped A frame.

I no longer own the Durango. I don't have immediate access to the 21DK and the ground it's on is neither near level nor smooth. Just measuring it involves moving it.

Thanks. I'll work with 24" as my starting point and will bring wrenches as suggested. As for adjusting the angle, the only wrench adjustment I can make on my SwayPro is the ball height. In addition, "... Each hole raises or lowers the front of the trailer 1-1/2”...", so I probably can't expect high precision.

I will just note that I have seen many ride quality complaints on the F150 sites about the swaypro in combination with F150s. So, my advice would be to follow the instruction manual to the letter. Work with your measurements, not someone else's truck. Or at the very least, make sure you include your spring codes (from the door) or GVWR to get a apples to apples comparison.

I have seen several F150/swaypro owners change to a different hitch on the forums. The problem seems to be worse with the aluminum trucks.

Thanks for the heads up. That's disappointing.

My use of other peoples' numbers is as a starting point. I plan to adjust as required, according to ride results.

Chris,

My bottom of my coupler is sitting at 20 1/4 inches above the driveway and camper appears level.
