Thumbs up We made it to Yellowstone :D

We left Tues morning 6am.. drove 13 hours, stayed over night in Shelbyville,Kentucky.. then up early and on the road again Wed..stayed at Victoria Acres in Nebraska that night another 13 hour day.. Thurs..we made it to a KOA in Wyoming that was a 10+ hour day...left headed here to Yellowstone West KOA..which took another 10+ hours arriving at 8:30pm their time..ugh.. later than we wanted..but hey.. we made it, safely..lots of sites to see along the way but we are going to do more of that when we leave here. The HTT is doing great, we have the pugs on, and reflectex in the windows...so far it has been really warm during the day, but gets down in the 30's at night...but we are staying toastie warm..
We have seen a ton of buffalo, all in the road and on the side of the road, along with elk.. also saw Old Faithful erupt this afternoon... was beautiful..

Isn't the West Yellowstone KOA a great campground. We spent 2 weeks there this past July and had a great time hiking and seeing sites in YS. Also, can't beat the WYS KOA for location to the park and WY village. Enjoy your trip and be careful out there!

We have enjoyed the park very much, super nice people, we have a great site with concrete patio, an updated picnic table, swing and a firewood ring with grid..it's awesome..

OMG.. don't even ask about fuel.. I knew it would be the biggest cost, but I was still in a bit of shock.. LOL

Being that your are retired then why the long days drive? You got more time than money and just relax and enjoy the nice leaser drive. I do. Later RJD

Well my BFF was driving, and telling her to chill out and slow down is like talking to that wall.. but she paid the price the last day going through the Teton national Park/Yellowstone for 81 miles going anywhere from 20 mph to 5mph.. LOL.. depending on what wildlife had decided to take up the road..
So our trip home will take much longer.. and we aren't going as far every day.. gonna soak it all in..

And atm.. we are sitting outside with our pups, feet up.. drink in hand.. life is good..

We stayed at Grizzly RV park in West Yellowstone and I long to go back. I can relate to long drives, we left North Carolina for Yellowstone in 13 for three weeks, long hours driving. DW retires on February the 29th and it will be slow and easy for me from then on.

When we went through the park yesterday... ALL the campgrounds inside were full.. had a sign at the gate..I was a little surprised this time of year, but this campground also is almost full...a lot of 1 nighters coming in, in the evenings..
You aren't that far from me, since I am on the Eastern Shore of Va. so I am sure you can relate to the distance..
