We survived our first trip out in the Roo!

We enjoyed a great weekend camping, and couldn't have asked for better weather! We camped at Huntsville State Park in Texas. Ironically, our camping location was just across the street from our first tent camping spot with my sons Cub Scout pack a couple of years ago.

I must say, I can get used to this travel trailer stuff. My wife is extremely pleased, which certainly adds to the enjoyment.

I didn't have any major issues, short of having a bit of difficulty getting the ball to release from the coupler. We were able to back in no problem, but took our time leveling the Roo. I guess we did just fine, but I'll get better at it.

Fortunately we were able to limit the "oh, man, we forgot to pack the...." phrase, but we did forget a few things. My wife kept a running list that I'm sure will continue to grow.

Sleeping in the Roo wasn't bad at all. I wasn't used to the furnace noise at first but quickly adjusted. Everything else seemed to check out just fine.

The initial emptying of the tanks went according to plan in that I didn't wear more than what was deposited, which was good!

We can't wait to get back out there in a couple of weeks.

I'm trying to post a picture from the iPad. My apologies if done incorrectly. I'll figure it out in time.

Congratulations on your first outing, seems like we always forget something...that's why they make WalMarts. Huntsville SP is a great place, stayed there a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Was in nearby Lake Livingston two weeks ago, wonderful weather and georgeous sunsets over the lake.

Nice fall/winter picture! I bought a new camper in November and have only home camped. I love winter and snowmobiling but am honestly looking forward to spring to try it out for real. Besides, I have already made a huge list of mod's and to do's! Some already done

Keep enjoying your Roo and, taking pictures. Good times ahead!

Thanks for posting and reminding every one of us northerners what camping year-round is like

Seriously, I'm glad you like your Roo and had a good trip.

Glad to see your first trip was smooth and uneventful. It gets better and easier as you continue. But even after 15+ years of camping we still forget something every once in a while. We just smile and search out the closest WalMart.
