Wink Weight on bed bunks?

I'm curious.. has anyone had any weight issues on the bunk ends? I'm not a big girl, but my first time out I have to admit that I was a little worried about it collapsing.. kinda that fear of falling since I feel extended out there with no support..

Rated for 1000 pounds. Wouldn't worry about it if it were me. The PUP had poles holding it up & the Roo has cables. Cables are good & sturdy.

Thank you rbq..
Just checking.. you never know when things might get "active"...
Surely didn't want to end up on the ground...

I don't think they make sound proofing for the canvas.. ~hushes~

Not retired but still "active" once in a while & there hasn't been any bounce on the bunk. As to the sound--if you can hear the wild life outside then the wildlife inside can also be heard.

This question comes up every 6 months or so.
Nearly all cable supported bunk ends aee rated between 1000-1200lbs.

I wish I could worry about a collapse. Ever since mrs vader took over a bunk of her own and built a noisy nest of fans and 4 inch memory foam I have not had a whole lot of reason to ponder such things.

It is a bit like being on a diving board, which I suppose could be good or bad depending on your sense of adventure. To quote the mighty weeble...they may wobble but they won't fall down.

I will say my bunks are only 2 inches above the power jack and even with 2 people in there it was exactly the same other than some slight flex in the base of the bed.

Just a little FYI, I wont get into details or toot my own horn but don't worry about your "Activities" Everything holds up just fine. Just be mindful of the center support rod, Don't want things collapsing.

F=MA

By Newtonian physics F=MA where Force (F) = Mass (M) x Angular Aceleration (A).

The stated cable support rating of 1000 pounds (FR Roo and Shamrock owners manual) is just static load (a 1000 pound Gorilla sleeping quietly in the bunk) .....Surely the engineers also anticipated additional dynamic force could occur.....because every bathroom stall in every engineering classroom building at every university in this nation has parodies of F = MA etched on the wall.

Where "F" is uhh, uhh, "Force" and equals the Mass of the uhh, uhh (behind) and "A" is the Angle of the uhh, uhh (dangle).

Anyway....these bunks are like the glass floor at the Hancock Bidg in Chicago........sounds scary to wonder what would happen if everyone on that observation deck jumped up in the air at the same time.......they are "over engineered" to allow for uh, uh, uh "extreme physical activity" by even the most uh, uh, uh "robust" RV customers.

and sleep soundly.

Hehe...you said additional dynamic force.

Maybe it should be an advertised feature..."enhanced dynamic force option, 48 dollars".

Different type of bunk. This is a Roo thread which is tent ends/hybrid bunks. Whole different animal.

This is the Hybrid section, which have very different bed setups than popups.
You need to ask your question in the Popup section.

Does anybody know of an older roo having the bunk end supports converted from steel rods below the bunk to cables? I have a 2004 and one of the rods bent which caused the bunk to collapse. Thanks

not possible. the cable ones have different engineering in the trailer frame and bunk frames, to support from above.

yours doesn't since its supports come from the rear bumper and A-frame.

even if it was possible to do such a huge conversation job, it would probably cost more than buying a newer used one that had the cable supports.
