What a damn mess! HELP!!! (SOLVED)

FINALLY got our Shamrock back from the dealer. Had new canvas strips sewn to the bottoms of the tent ends to repair damage they did. Long story. Upon closer inspection, it appears as thought the dealership made a total mess of all of my bunks on top when putting the canvas back in. They did this to all 3. Where the canvas meets the top, they have just used a bunch of silicone to plug the "holes" they created in the corners when they did not reinstall the canvas properly. How on earth can I take this apart and fix this myself? I am so upset and disappointed.

You could go to an upholstery shop and ask if they can do it for you or suggest where it could be done. Another option is a custom boat cover and sail maker. I think you should get estimates to have it repaired and then sue the dealer in small claims court for repairs and loss of use plus your time.

Good luck, I think a court would rule in your favor as long as you have good photos and estimates. Don't make it personal - make it about fairness in business.

i would email Gregg Rollins, at FR, and send him pics of this with the name of the dealer that did such a poor job.

i'd also contact the owner of the dealership.

by the way, did you buy the Shamrock from the dealer that did this?

I would suggest to take it back, show the owner and say "If this was your unit, would you be happy with it." Get his response, see what he has to say. If you don't hear what you want to hear then let him know that photo's along with phone calls will be going to FR today. Also let him know that you are on a few web sites and that you will post them all about them. Sometimes I think you need to shake them up and wake them up.
I haul septic, pump and also inspect septic tanks and on the side of our truck and on our shirts and hat it says Doing the job right.
We have people go around to double check everyones work. Being there 6 years, I NEVER had to redo a job that I had already done.

Maybe asking that owner what does doing the job right mean to him?
Good Luck and get-r-done

yes, this was also purchased at the same dealer that did "repairs". Don't know what it is going to cost to take legal action but I may not have a choice :-(

Will definitely do that. Do you have any contact info for Mr. Rollins?

i could think of a few choice words, and its a shame sometimes you have to get a little nasty to get things done and done correctly.

in most States before we can expect to win in court
we must give them at least one chance
to right their wrongs
if we think about it for a little while
it makes sense

plus
most small claims courts do not
pay for lost time
unless
someTHING like days missed from work
(with a doctors note)
ex. dog bite, car crash, stabbing

don't take the unit home next time
until
all is checked out OK

your pictures !!!

regarding those pictures
to say they do sloppy work
is an understatement !!!

all you can really do it seems
is take it back
give them copies of all your pictures
have them make note of all needed repairs
then
ask them to simply
repair all back up to standard

from who ever does the repairs
so as to back you up in court
I believe the opposing side is going to cry out
that you did not give them a fair chance
so as to make THINGS right
((a good reason to kill your claim))
let us know what happens
good luck

Good News!!!

Here's a follow up to our progress with our damaged camper...With the threat of legal action and just a wee bit of creative negotiating, our rv dealer did provide us with a brand spanking new 2012 Shamrock this past Saturday...It is PERFECT! Sometimes you gotta be a little nasty but the reward is well worth the trouble!!! Thanks everyone for your advice and helpfulness...sure glad I found this forum! Happy Camping everybody!!!
