What did you pay? 21ss

if you dont mind sharing. looking at a '17 shamrock 21ss, has slide topper, outside grill/table, electric tongue jack ( think everything else is standard on them) over the phone price was 19,200 but nobody ever lists the price on any sales sites so im having a hard time finding if this is a good price. going monday to look at in person/haggle with a sales guy.

Get quotes from RVW and RV DIRECT, for the Roo 21SS, twin of the Shamrock.
RV DIRECT also carries the Shamrock also.
Use their quotes to negotiate

I am not sure where you are located but you can take a look at Labadie RV in Holland Ohio. They will deliver anywhere in the USA. Right now they have a 21ss listed on the internet for $18,750. When I bought my Roo 17 I got a quote from RV wholesale which was $1500 higher than Labadie so I bought from Labadie. A couple of days later RVW called me about their quote and I told them that I already bought the Roo and I told them the price I paid. Their sales guy told me that I should have called them first because they could have done better. My response was "then you should have given me an honest quote to begin with". My take away is that when dealing with RVW if you get an initial quote, apparently that is not their bottom line.

Seems like a good price with that slide topper, if it is the rig you want and the dealer is a good one looks like a win there, season has started and now is the time to go camping! Good luck!

When I was looking for our 21SS, I started online and got quotes from a number of dealers in Indiana where I thought they might be cheaper. When I called and talked to them about their quote, they all said it a basic unit without any options. Told them what options I wanted and the price went up of course. I checked with a local dealer and a price over the phone that was the sale price. Then went into the store and talked to them and the price dropped by $1000 and got a good deal on WDH with free installation. Comparing the out of state prices and my local dealers, it was not enough difference to make me drive to Indiana.
Another thing is your warranty repairs that you may need. It not like buying a car that you can take to any dealer and get repaired. Your local dealer may repair it, but you will be on the bottom of the list to do the work and you could be without your camper for weeks! I bought my 2016 21SS last December when they were not selling many campers and he stored it for me until I picked it up this spring. I did have 2 warranty issues that he fixed right away when I took it in to the dealer and took it home the same day!

You can not go wrong with Labadie RV. I was turned onto them by a good friend who lives in Toledo and purchased a 233S there a few years ago. I have not bought there, but have talked / negotiated with them at length about Roos twice, and they are some straight shooters. The guy I talked with both times was Greg. The semi-local Rockwood dealer was only $750 more than them to order our 23WS, if it would of been a little more I would of taken the drive out and purchased at Labadie myself. They consistently beat RVW. They have quoted much lower than RVW both times I was talking with them.

The advertised prices can be negotiated further.

I drove from central pa to Ohio saved around $10,000 dollars. Worth the trip for me.

Call Tom at Suburban RV. Mansfield Ohio. Closer than RVW and he beat their price hands down. Great guy also.

Don't be fooled by just the sales guy. Price matters and always grind that one HARD when you are ready to buy, but first, check out their service dept, by reputation as well as a meet and greet with the service mgr. Those are the guys that will make or break you if you wind up with after purchase issues.

In our case just took delivery last week, with one issue that had to go back to Factory for. I liked the sound of what the factory warranty manager had to say. So we took delivery since our dealer is 45 miles away and the factory only 20. In and out of the factory in 4.5 hours for one major change order and a couple under an hour, but still costly changes if I had done them.

Do cost, no hassle and after they did a major rush, they were polite when I sheepishly said I would not be able to come get it til 7am the next day. Still drop off to pick up under 24hr. Yeah FACTORY. BTW our dealer service seems fine to, but can't beat the FR Factory resources.
