Talking What do I do with my forks and spoons

Hi all, Finally our long winter is over and I am prepping my new 2013 ROO 183 for our first official camping in 2 weeks, I just realized something, I have no drawers in my new camper, please give me some suggestions of what you do with your cutlery, Thank you in advance,

I would look at one of those nice cupboard above the table and add shelves to it or what is that under the sink?

We had the same question when we were getting ready to move our stuff to our new 233S a couple of years ago. C'mon! No silverware drawer?

We basically store ours in the pantry closet adjacent to the kitchen. Inside the closet I have the standard plastic flatware organizer for eating utensils that sits on top of a two-drawer container (for other kitchen items). Kinda looks like this ...

You're telling me these units have no drawers? I guess I am lucky to have 2.

LOL, I did the same thing ~ "where's the drawers???" I was thinking of another camper

I went with a cabinet with baskets to organize stuff. I did a drawer for my cooking utinsels. I bought the caddy from Sam's for $15 that holds plates, napkins, and silver ware. I needed the counter space so that's where the caddy lives once we arrive along with the coffee pot.

Took a bit of trial and error but this is working nicely for us.

Happy Camping!

Thats what I was thinking Tri Guy, I am looking at either a stand alone plastic unit I could put up on a small shelf when setting up or possibly in the ward robe, I saw a guy in one of these threads re build his wardrobe into shelves however in the 183 it is a very odd uneven shape inside I am good but not that good, not quite sure how I missed this or more impotently Forest River, still an amazing trailer with an amazing layout. Any one build anything in?

This is the pantry I modified. Did the same basic thing in the closet since we don't need hanging clothes space. Now have room for towels, extra kitchen storage.

The plastic drawer system is light weight and inexpensive. You should find drawers to fit in the cabinets possibly at WM, etc. but def at the container store, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc. I really wanted the cabinet and counter space.

I just have one question - what kind of an idiot designed a "camping trailer" and didn't think to include something as simple as space for for eating utensils which forces the owners to come up with their own ideas (all of which are great)... Come on guys - put some drawers in these rigs!!!!

At least they included a place to sleep and go to the bathroom....

We have a small wicker cutlery basket with 4 compartments that works good for us.

The people that design TT should be made to camp it a prototype for a week before the design goes into production. They should also be made to take there wives with them. After listening to their better 1/2 complain for a week things would be made better.

Now that's a great idea - especially the wife part but let's throw in a couple of kids and the family dog as well.... Just so it will truly be a real experience....

Crazy isn't it? It never even occurred to me that there wouldn't be a drawer in the kitchen

When shopping we asked question, but learned a lot more the first night we camped.

What's the diff between a $15k tt and a $25 one? Everysalesman talked build quality and guess what? They are all about the same. Or siding, or slides.

Nobody talked about drawers ( we have NONE), mattresses (we have crap, the bunk mattresses are 'shot' after 30 days of use), water heater is gas only manual start and the pilot blows out if anyone in the camground sneezes our direction, we have NO light switches (other than the scare light) - we found this out at 1 am when one of the kids had to use the bathroom and couldn't reach the light - on the ceiling. Then we noticed all the lights are only switched AT the light itself.

I use clear tackle boxes. They work great because they come in varying sizes (length/depth) they are securely closed since they are lidded, store flat (or on their sides) and the interior can be compartmentalized to your specific needs - and they are waterproof, if left on the picnic table in the rain, utensils & stuff stay dry..... Was an easy transition going from one RV to another...just removed the containers and packed into new RV and we were set!

I do like Caper's caddy tho! Mighty fancy! Hee!

I would guess no drawers eliminates complaints of drawers popping open? At least there's cabinet space to creatively design one's own storage needs.
