Sponge, our older 23SS had snaps for the front mattress.
but we had the front bunk door replaced under warranty.
The dealer that did it, didn' t install new snaps.
That was 6 years ago and we've never had an issue because the canvas holds the mattress against the closed bunk door.

I don't see why it wouldn't be the same for the pre-attached canvas.

In our 2014 233S bunks we used the existing wood screws to attach picture hanging D rings below the upper parcel shelf and on the lower mattress shelf. We then hooked several bungee cords across the bunk opening, and it holds the mattress 'sort of' vertical. Still kind of fussing with the mod and how to best fold everything.

The front mattress will not stay neatly up out of the way with the mattress pad on it though. The slope on the bunk end seems to push the mattress in. Seems to work better with the side bunk, which has a vertical wall and bunk end. Back bunk, as mentioned, no issue. D rings fold out of the way when not in use, and completely reversible if the idea doesn't work for you.

I'm thinking that the answer for us if we are just the two of us turtling because of rain or what not I will take that mattress out and store it back by the other bunks. It won't matter often. I've been trying to get all the stuff from the popup transferred to the hybrid and it justs bugs me.

I did and it seems really really nice. Unfortunately I have no dealers close by and it is creeping up there a little longer than I hoped. I wish a few more companies offered a similar approach.

My 2013 Shamrock is difficult to use if the front bunk is not deployed. I have a hard time making the couch into a bed because of the canvass. the back bunks are not a problem. If the beds are to go unused, I would open the zipper windows to let any moisture evaporate if the seals leak. I have turtled several times and it does work.
