What is behind door number 1 and 2?

Actually behind the bottom hinges of the bunks?

I have a 2006 Shamrock 19

The reason I ask is that on both the front and rear bunks the hinge is attached to the shell on a plane that would draw water into the trailer!

As far as I can tell, when the bunk is down, there is a cavity filled by some foam where the water would flow from the bottom corners. Where the water goes from there is my concern.

Has anyone seen the shell without the bunk door on and understands what I'm talking about?

I was considering creating some type of dam that would have the water flow to the outside of the shell. Is this needed or is the structure behind the hinge such that the water that accumulates in the corners eventually flows out?

I hope this makes sense. If not I can take some pics and see if this is a problem, or if there's already a solution......

I think you'll need to post pics, since the hinge area has changed over the years.

As you will see I have some mold growing from this problem and need to solve it as soon as possible.

I believe the moisture is coming from two places:

First at the top of the bunk door running down the seal and dumping into this opening. I think I can solve this problem with the PVC cover.

Second would be driving rain or rain while driving. This is the one I am wondering if anyone has a fix for.
