What should I pay to upgrade AC Unit?

I am in the process of purchasing a 2014 Roo 233S... I live in Florida so I want to upgrade the AC from 13.5K to 15K ...

One dealer said it was a $250 upgrade and the one we are actually buying from said it was more like a $1500 upgrade.

Has anyone upgraded their AC and if so, what did you pay?

thanks

Jesse

The 250 sounds more like an upgrade, the 1500 is a ripoff even for a new a/c.

A quick search shows them to cost under $500.

If your dealer is telling you things like this now, wait till you have a problem. I'd suggest finding another dealer.

Are they ordering the Roo or is it one they have in stock?
If in stock then they will charge more as they have to remove the 13.5K unit and install the new 15K unit with you paying the difference in price (which will most likely be full retail price)

If ordering the unit it is very minimal in cost, maybe a few hundred, to have the factory do it.

I am buying the unit from Camping World - however, they have to have the unit shipped from another state (they did not have any in stock).

My dealer upgraded the 13.5 k to 15 k at no charge because my unit was ordered from the factory (not a lot model). However, when I was looking at lot models, they would have charged me $250 to upgrade the A/C.
I think I'd lose trust in any dealer that tried to overcharge for an upgrade like that.

Send a message via MSN to Tiggerdad
Should be done at no charge by the dealer. Mu unit came without a second unit and had a 13,500 added to the front bedroom as part of the package AFTER I made a deal.

Salesman said they didn't have one in stock. I suggested that it wouldn't take long to get one or take one from another unit before I sign the papers. Bob,above, has a point about the $1500 cost.

We just order the Roo 233S end of Dec and also live in Florida. It only cost to $150 extra to upgrade.
Now ours is being upgraded at the factory and not at the dealership.
