What years have the water filter problem?

I see alot of posts but not sure what years have these problems or has it been fixed on later models. I have a Roo 21SS 2010 and it doesn't have the water filter installed although the previous owner has left a replacement one in the camper. I'm scared to death to even touch it.

It's an ongoing problem...use an outside filter instead. Ours is a 2014...first thing I did is pull it out, before ever running water through it.

Considering the Roo is such a great hybrid trailer otherwise what a shame.

2012.... And I haven't had an issue. However, I keep a look out for it to happen. This year, I used a camco outside, and purchased a Home Depot filter (2 for $8) to replace the expensive one inside....and had great tasting water this last trip. Again, no filter issues on our 2012 yet.

Never had a filter issue with my 2008 Shamrock 183. In fact, the filter would refuse to loosen at all - even with the wrench - unless I opened the kitchen faucet. It sealed that tightly.

The filter housing looks different on my new camper and I guess I have one of the filters that tends to unscrew. There is an arrow on the filter holder that is supposed to be lined up with the housing which I did and thus far I've noted no movement. It's not like the unit is on a spring, ready to fly apart. I put a piece of tape from the holder to the housing just in case.

What are the details on the label on the filter bowl? If it's a Water Pur CCI-10 filter assy, you should be fine. We've had no issues with ours in four yrs and hundreds of days pressurized.

My experience last weekend would lead me to recommend everyone to remove the cannister completely. It didn't unscrew...the housing had a hairline split which let water spray all over the pump compartment and leak into the bathroom. It's an early 2015 23ikss

We picked up our 2014 Rockwood 8289WS in Indiana in July 2013. In route home to California, the water filter detached (unscrewed) from the housing. No matter how tight it was screwed on, nor whether using the 12 volt water pump or shore water, it would simply come off. Stopped at a dealer in South Dakota and he said he had not seen this happen before. Getting it replaced under warranty was problematic (process too time consuming and we were on the road) and so I just paid him to remove and bypass it. Have used an external filter attached to our hose since with no problems. The original filter was also installed in a place making filter replacement difficult.

Agreed a bad spot to change. No issues here but according to the distributor at Goshen last summer the filter has to be installed in the filter head firmly and then the canister made wrench tight. Anything less than this it will loosen.

I've pulled my Rockwood Minilite 2104 over 12K miles in the 3 years I've had it. Two years ago we did a 7 week, 14 state, 8000+ mile trip. Never had a problem with the filter .... ever.

When doing the pre-delivery walk-around, the advisor (who happened to be the dealership owner) insisted that I get a water pressure regulator. He even gave me 50% off ... and it wasn't that much to begin with. He claimed uncontrolled water pressure could cause all sorts of problems and that you can't trust the water systems at parks. I've used it every time I've hooked up. Could non-use of a regulator be a contributing factor with this problem?
