What's this for?

I've often wondered the function of this piece on the left in our freezer compartment. My DIL opened it up to put something away today and wondered how come we gots a soft drink can dispenser in the freezer? I told her I ain't never figured out the use for it. Seems to just be taking up space. It's a Dometic fridge in our 2015 Shamrock 183. Click image for larger version

I agree, but how is this a thing? Do people really use this stuff to the extent that we need dedicated space in our freezers?!

We use it for ice packs or frozen veggies.

How are you going to make frozen margaritas without Bacardi Frozen mix? Leave it in and use it often!

To put the Smirnoff Ice, Grape Flavor, in the freezer temporarily until it is almost frozen, right before drinking.........

For those with kids, it's the perfect size for boxes of yogurt tubes. We eat them frozen as 'ice cream popsicles'. Click image for larger version
