Why does my cable reception SUCK!(SOLVED!)

First camping trip(other than in driveway) with two week old '13 Shamrock 23SS. Spent the morning at the dealer having furnace replaced but that's another story. Cable TV reception is horrible. Channel search on TV will not identify all available channels. Ran cable from camp hook up directly to TV and picture is great...all channels "loaded". Clearly something is up with cable wiring in the camper. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Don't know how yours is wired, but I had the same problem and found two causes. First, a cable in the entertainment center area was not properly connected - loose connection (nut not tightened). Second, our rig includes a fancy input source box for determining what source goes to the TV's cable input. It was set to something else ("antenna," I think) and the TV could still find some, but not all, channels. Hope this helps and that the problem is not somewhere in the coax installed in your rig.

you might want to be sure your antennae booster is off

Same type problem with our new 356RL, found the antenna cable and the park cable from the booster in the bedroom were reversed when they were connected to the living room set.

If you are using your antenna, then the power booster should be on. If you are using cable, it needs to be turned off or you will get bad reception. If that isn't the problem, start checking the connections to make sure they are tight and hooked up correctly.

Turned off antenna power booster (something I had no idea I had...so much for thorough walk thru) and that fixed issue. Cable now looks great on both TVs. Thank you FR Forums!!

yep, that's a really basic thing that should be shown in a PDI!
makes you wonder what else they didn't show you.

My point was regardless of time spent in walk through, some things will be missed. Dealer spent 4+ hours with me going through PDI pulled from FR forums. Maybe antenna power booster effecting cable just to basic. Nevertheless, I'm happy matter is resolved.

My dealer didn't cover it on the walk through either and I had to learn the hard way too.
