Wiggly Kitchen Table

Just received my 2013 23SS and noticed the folding dinette table is very wobbly. At first I thought it was the top but looking underneath I think its the metal stand. The design looks stable but I don't think they used rigid enough metal in the construction so now the top moves a lot. Anyone else have the same? I'm thinking of reinforcing the structure with rigid brackets etc - anyone modify their table/ suggestions?

Interior Table

The interior table on our 2013 Roo is close to worthless. When it is up it is real unsteady. The small clip that keeps it locked up doesn't hold, and if pressure is put on the table it will fold up and collapse. We are looking at replacing it with a card table, since it is very unlikely we will need to turn the table into a bed.

Any suggestions on a different clip or way to secure it.

I just notice our 2013 23SS table is very wobbly today. Figure when I get a chance will pull the table out and see how to fix it.

Can't tell from the online pix at Forest River if the table legs are the same as ours were. They collapsed sideways and down to make the dinette bed and were made of a black square tubular steel. We replaced it as shown. Much more solid!

Can you do that? Awesome. I just tried an experiment with having the family eat at the table. This includes my 5 year old boy. No way this will work! Drinks and food everywhere. As soon as there is any weight on the table it moves a lot. I don't mean a little - it knocks stuff over. This problem actually renders the use of the dinette unusable. I'm feeling pretty frustrated and upset - I just spent a lot of money and now can't use the dinette because the table is crap ... So do I rebuild the "brand new" table or design my own table - nothing like paying more money to make up for poor quality that you just spent a ton of money on! How does something like that get past FR? No way they didn't know its garbage.

Hey Timarti

Yes you described it right on. Looks like your new one is awesome. Buy or build?

I like the idea timarti just post. A friend mine has a water jet to cut wood. I can completely design it and he will cut it out.

Still going to contact Roger at Forest River. Maybe we all should complain so they see its more then just one person.

We should complain. Just saw the same complaint on the forum going back a year. Who gives a family unit a table like that...
