Thanks everyone. I didn't get exactly the hitch I wanted but did get a similar style (wanted equal-I-zer, settled for husky centerline) which was an improvement over what the first dealer was giving me.

On our way to get it now!

Will update later

Are you going through Viccars?

Nevermind, since they push the Centerline, the answer is yes! LOL We like our Centerline hitch set up. We've had great experiences with Viccars, though I personally don't like the service guy, he just rubs me the wrong way.

Got it!

So we got the Roo! Thanks to you all who answered my many questions this past week and for all the warm well wishes received.
I posted a few pics in my gallery if anyone wants to check them out.

Our maiden trip will likely be Mothers Day - not sure I'm going to be able to wait that long but I'll do my best.

I just have to add

And so do all of you!

Hi Hockeytownmom, yeah we went through Vicars - They weren't my first choice and it's a bit of a story how I ended up there. I only met the lady who sold to me and one other guy (could have been the service guy but not certain, and barely remember him).

Because it was a Saturday, and we found a few things needing fixing, and because I don't have RV storage yet (blah, blah, blah), we aren't taking delivery for a few weeks yet (Vicars is storing it for us through the month of Feb) so we can do the full inspection (at which time I'll likely meet the service guy and perhaps a few others) and get the hitch installed, yadda, yadda, yadda.

My initial impression of them is mixed right now but we'll see. I really hate the fact that we as consumers are so limited in our dealer choices - either too far away - don't carry the line/model you want, won't service an RV purchased elsewhere...kinda frustrating - sure would be nice if there were better governmental mandates on the servicing issues - that is for sure!

Congrats on the new Roo!

I would suggest "Camp Driveway" for a weekend between now and then, putting everything on the camper through it's paces. Plumbing, electrical, storage, door latches, EVERYTHING gets tested. You'll eve figure out better ways to stow your stuff than when you pack initially. Much better to find a problem, or discover something that you left behind, when you are just a few steps from your house.

Another tip - I installed a whiteboard (well, actually a blackboard) and I keep a supply of the fluorescent felt-tips with it. Whenever we discover something that we forgot to pack, think we need, or a repair or modification idea, we put it on the board, and it doesn't get erased until it's been addressed. It becomes part of my pre-trip check-list for the NEXT trip, with the goal of leaving for tghe next trip with a blank board.
