Probably not the best place to ask, but has anyone camped at YNP? I have a 2013 233s and from what I can find about the campsites and the size is limited. Curious if there is a preferred spot for a roo like ours in any of the campgrounds. Trying to plan ahead for 2015 summer!

You can reserve spots in many campgrounds in Yellowstone. Just be sure & mention the length of the trailer & they can fit you into a number of spots. We stayed at Madison campground (20 miles east of West Yellowstone) last summer. No problem fitting my 233S, truck & a Honda minivan. The only campground you would be restricted from is Fishing Bridge which does not allow canvas trailers & it is the only one with full hook ups in the park, all others are on your own power. It is a great place to camp. Make your reservations early. Happy to answer any questions you have about the park, since it's just up the road for me. (about 5 hrs.).

You have lots of choices unless you're planning on going during the busiest months.
We found lots of good campsites at Madison and Grant Village.
And you can camp at Fishing Bridge if you "turtle" with your hybrid.
Canyon, Bridge Bay and Mammoth are good choices also.
We had huge sites at Madison and Grant with plenty of room.

There may be some restrictions inside the park due to not having hard sides. You can check with the park service. Prior to the ROO we camped there twice in a tent. Both times stayed just outside the park. Better facilities and no problem with a ROO. Make reservations early and don't pass too many gas stations as they can be spaced far apart out west. You will enjoy Yellowstone.

I always camp outside the park outside west yellowstone in my roo. Rainbow point or bakers hole. Quick access to the park not as crowded. I then venture into the park. Check the national forest camp grounds.

We were in the Rustic Wagon just blocks from the west gate over the fourth of July, a short drive to Old Faithful and other park features.

Fishing Bridge CG is the only campground in YNP, that has a permanent ban on soft-sided campers.
And if you "turtle" with your hybrid, they'll let you stay there.

We were there a couple of years ago with our 26' TT. We stayed in the Canyon campground then, but have always stayed at one of the campgrounds in the park. Canyon was nice because it's near the crossover road for the two loops (northern & southern) and makes it a lot easier to see everything without spending the day driving long distances.

Yellowstone NP is one of our favorite places to go...been there 5 or 6 times over the last 30 years.

We enjoyed Bay Bridge CG in 2013. I would stay outside the CG next time if I wanted amenities. 8PM quiet time is a little too early for me as I enjoy turning firewood into ashes.

We stayed outside the West entrance. It was very handy to the park.

Turtling is using your hybrid but not opening the bunk ends. Certain NP campgrounds won't allow tents or soft sides due to bears. Many hybrid owners turtle when traveling, stopping at walmart and sleeping inside without opening the bunk ends.

Being able to turtle is another advantage a hybrid has over a popup.
It is a feature unique to hybrid trailers only.

We stayed at the Grizzly RV park in West Yellowstone for a week in 2002. a great place, especially with kids! The wolf and grizzly discovery park is great too.
