1/2 Ton Towable...Really FR ?
Was looking at the FR website today and noticed this Wildcat Maxx that is marketed as 1/2 ton towable...It's either incorrect on the website or your going to need quite the 1/2 ton to pull this down the road I'm guessing the Ford F150 with the HDPP could handle it.

No way in H.E. double toothpicks would I ever attempt to pull that with a 1/2 ton.

That is a whole lot of trailer for a half-ton. No thanks for me. Even properly set-up it would be a hazard.

I would like to hear the weasel words for this fantasy. I have not seen a tow guide that suggest any 1/2 ton could handle this especially if you include the buffer (Gross trailer weight as percentage of towing capability). There may be some room for debate, 75, 80, even 90. Personally, I stay conservative on this. Our RAM 1500 is rated at 10,800 and now I am hauling about 7500. After 5 years with only 5000 pounds behind now the truck is saying this is enough.

The 38 feet in length alone, I would not pull it around unless it was a fifth wheel. That weight with a half ton would open a whole new can of worms. No Thanks.

Man, that's heavier than my fiver's dry pin. And I went with a 3/4 ton for it!

Looking at this again, its the exact same layout as my father in laws Cedar Creek 5th wheel, just flattened out.

That weighs as much as my 5th wheel and it is right at capacity for my 2500.

It should get it as far as the wreck site.

Even if it COULD be towed by a 1/2er, I would be afraid of the tail wagging the dog big time!

I could see pulling something like this on flat lands but don't go to the hills and mountains. It would be white knuckles holding on in extreme hills. I was glad I had enough truck on my last trip through Colorado up and down the long 6% grades. So 1/2 ton owners....decide how far and where your want to go with a rig like this.

I'm pulling a similar TT Cherokee 304BS 36' 11070 max weight. I went to a GMC 2500HD Diesel to pull that beast.

This made me laugh out loud It's too bad people have to learn the hard way until they realize the Tow Vehicle should well exceed the load capacity for both comfort and safety for everyone on the road!
