14" LT tires

So I'm reading about how crappy the Chinese tires that come on TT are. Ours is a Rockwood 2306 with 14" wheels and 205/75/14 tires. I don't see many options for replacing them with LT tires. BFG has the old KO all terrains in 195/75/14. What are folks using on their 14" wheels?

The only D rated tire I've seen is a Karrier. Google it

You can find what I refer to as Euro-metric tires. They are usually 8-ply rated and are made for trailers, vans, and transporters more commonly find in Europe.

Hankook and Kumho build them, as do a few others. TireRack carries the Kumho's usually.

Now a Euro-metric sizing is a hair different as it omits the aspect ration which would be 82. So a Euro 205R14 is actually taller than a ST205/75/14. Most people go to a Euro 195R14 when using these as a substitute.

This is exactly what I did - Kumho 857's. I went with the 195R14's. They are slightly narrower but still fit the rims and are very close to the OD of the original tires. There wasn't a lot of clearance between the tires or above the tires to begin with, so I didn't stay with the 205's.

Tires are sold as an ST, but they are marked LT on the sidewalls? Either way, much happier with the LR D tires on there. Time will tell if they were worth the extra $$.

I went with the Hankook RA08 in the 195r14 size You can buy them from the busdepot.com, about $120 each/8 ply d rating, 99 mph rated. 1 year trouble free, and peace of mind..........
