My 2015 Superduty F 250 6.7 Liter Diesel is sick. There is a hard knocking sound on Regen after the Exhaust display on the cluster. Happens 10 to 20 seconds after the warning goes out. The left side of the engine dumps fuel to get temps up to clean the system.
March 28 a TSB was issued and they flash the computer to turn on both sides. If you have a 14/15/16 get it checked and flashed.

Next week they pull my cab and replace all exhaust valves on the left side.

My truck has always run 30 minute trips twice day and rarely ran a Regen, When towing it never regains so it must be hot enough to burn the particulate up and clean the filter.

Under warranty, 100 percent covered. Just a real life issue. This not a recall but a bulletin for owners. Many a discussion on the Ford Trick Enthusiast Forum. ford-trucks.com

Brian.... I an curious about this... you will have to keep us updated on the repair and root cause. I am really surprised you mention the motor over fuels to burn off the DPF... I thought all of the big 3 stopped doing that and put an injector in the exhaust to avoid this? I also was under the impression that the modern diesels could vary the VGT on the turbo to bring EGTS up?

You left out heavy...
I looked at two nearly identical F250 Lariats.
Power Stroke had a CCC of 2000lbs.
6.2L had CCC of 2700lbs.
That's 700lbs of extra engine wt.
Power Strokes are not free, either.

For me, coming from a F150 rated at 1600lb, could not justify a diesel at this time.
Again, it's personal preference and how the numbers look for you, no wrong answer here.

To answer the next question, there were no SRW 350s to be found, so I can only address the actual trucks I looked at.

Whatever lets you sleep at night I suppose.

Thread Clean Up & Closure

You may have noticed that several posts on this thread have been unapproved. The site team deemed them non-conducive to the OP's question and resulting discussion.
Thanks to those of you who suggested the OP use the "Search" feature to find one of the MANY threads on this topic.
We only edited about 5-6 pages from the end where most of the non-helpful comments were posted. And, as suggested by more than one poster, this thread will be closed.
Lots of good information here for future seekers. Thanks again.
