When I ordered my new Ram truck, I got the 17 inch rims rather than the 20's. I figured that the extra sidewall on the tires would give a softer ride. And yes, the 20 inch tires are pricey!
The 20 inch rims sure look sharp, but I am beyond worrying about impressing the ladies!

I wish Dodge would have stayed with the 16" rims. There is a pretty significant difference between the 16" vs the 17".

Take all those thousands of dollars you'd invest in modifying your truck and invest them in your future. Maybe you'll be able to retire sooner than you expect and can RV full time.

Its not that I would be investing more money modding out the truck. It is only that the truck comes with 20", and I was just wondering if 18" were better. It is not a money issue what so ever its a.ride thing.

My older truck was a '98 2500 Chev with 4 wheel drive. Newer one is a '06 same. The 98 was nice and low (far as getting in and out). The '06 is about 4 inches higher. Had to get the trailer axles swapped and put running boards on it. No reason for the '06 being higher other than younger people wanting higher trucks. Wayne

Back to your question. I have an 2008 F-250 with 20's on it and have no problems. I did have to raise my pin box to get the nose closer to level. Have 9 in. of bed rail clearance and the trailer sits about 1 1/2 nose high. But after I put air bags in will probably raise the pin box another hole.

I have a 2009 with the 20's and have notice no difference from other f350's I have driven over the last twenty years.....16"s 17"s. 20"s they all bounce you around like crazy.
I also got an itch to lift a truck back in 2000. Seemed like a great idea at the time but after a couple of years the thrill wore off, hard on your knees too climbing in and out. But hell you live once, get it out of your system.

I know this is a Chevy but i think this is the look of what you are going for? Biggest wheel and tire combo to get a good all terrain look.

2011 Sabre 32BHOK

Your sabre will aready come with the "axle flip" Sabres are that was from the factory. Plus all the lift you add will also add to your over all trailer height. I don't know your specific trailer height but mine was 12'8" from the factory i am now at about 13' even.
