5th Wheel Question

We are thinking about upgrading our entry-level travel trailer to a 5th wheel. We are looking for something that is quality made and not over 31 feet long. We are considering a Grand Design Reflection 29RS and were wondering how this is rated and what the pros/cons are. Also if there is any other better 5th wheels out there. Thanks.

GD is considered to be one of the best. My neighbor has one and has nothing but good things to say. ABOUT IT.

X2. We have been through several at shows and some in RV parks where the owners were more than happy to show us all the details. We were impressed.

They are definitely on our list for when we start shopping for our next one.

We ordered our Flagstaff Classic SuperLite fifth, took possession in May of 2014 and have really enjoyed it ever since. We put about 9200 to 9800 miles on it every summer. We decided to lock into transport mode the articulated pinbox (Revolution or Sidewinder name) and to continue to use our Superglide automatic hitch, which we really like.
We've found the Flagstaff service staff at Goshen to be great to work with (do head to the International FROG Rally in August). Our model is the 8528IKWS which is such a classic floorplan that they have made it--relatively unchanged--for several model years, 'cause it works so well. Our price point was good, too. We've added little bits, like Mor-ryde solid steps and handrail, up-fitted the tires by one grade, & tweaked a few things, so the only nice addition might be a little on-board generator system--but it's not hampered us.
At a little over 8000 lbs unloaded, 32' long, with great storage and tanks, it pulls really well, tracks great, and is easily handled by our 2007 2WD Ford F250 diesel. We've also lived in it a couple of summers, 2 1/2 months at a time, as lighthouse hosts. It's kept us and our two dogs, really happy.
We had a 14000 lb fifth and a tow-behind before this, so our learning curve--while constant--was pretty smooth.
Lots of products to choose from. Good luck.
